He will also start Jordan next week vs North Dakota in my opinion just like he went for and threw the fade route on 4th. That's why the players and fans here love him. The loss sucks but we will come back next week and playing vernon just to play him to try and win versus North Dakota is panic plus and I don't see our coach doing that. Jordan will start next week but he has to get the ball to Cooper 12 times at least. If we start Vernon...we are employing desperation at home against an average team risking season ending injury. Beau knows that and will use the upset week to build up his backup QB. Just my take...

Get over there and congratulate them on their amazing performance tonight!

Agreed. Bottom line, the kid is our "franchise" player. I laughed off people saying "next man up" when Vernon went down, because you just can't replace him that way. He has a mojo with him that literally wills us to win (see Montana State, or Portland State last year). We don't get that with him out and are much more vulnerable to losing games like this.
If he can get himself available for next week, there is absolutely no doubt you put him on the field. No player worth his salt is going to slow play an injury when he can be a difference maker on the field. Vernon is a tough SOB, and if there is any way he can see the field, you know he'll do it.
