#2 EWU at Washington Game Thread

23 scholarships less or not, our defense is horrible. Bottom 2 or 3 in the Big Sky.

No debate on that point. I was commenting on the pace and the disparity in the talent level when the replacements come in to spell the tired or hurt players.

Agreed. I'm really disappointed in the defense today. Offense came to play. 52 points should have been more than enough for the win.

Love the effort on both sides of the ball!
Tough when you spot a team 21 points to win at any level!
Clutch play after clutch play they represented our school WELL!
This will not be the defining moment for the team.
7 TD's and almost 500 yards . . . WOW

Who's NEXT!
and GO EAGS!

holy crap what a game.

D needs tons of help, what was the out weight discrepancy on both sides of the ball? I had read somewhere 20-30 pounds for each position?

Tough game. I think most of us knew that we didn't match up well with this team. The loss is always so much harder when you come that close. I would venture to say that our coaching staff did brilliantly. Their offense made clutch plays purely by out "athleting" our defense. We won't face an offense like that, that's for sure. Now, I want nothing more than UW to pull off an incredible season to make us look that much better.

Offensive MVP: Vernon Adams. It's always a little cliche to give offensive MVP to the quarterback. However, he played with incredible heart and kept drives alive by sheer force of will. Even through so much cramping, he was the biggest threat in the game. Period.

Defensive MVP: Rashad Wadood. Two plays stand out: When Rashad jumped over a defender for the tackle on a bubble screen and when Rashad chased down a speedy back to prevent the touchdown. He was in the mix and flying around and I am glad we managed to grab such a player in the off season.

Well that game sucked. Good effort on offense, and VA is a very accurate long ball thrower, impressive. But god damn, both defenses were putrid.

Awful quiet crowd... Everyone still at the tailgate or stunned that they gave up 21 point lead to a lowly FCS team?

Most of the students are not back yet, which helped lower the crowd total. The opponent was part of it, we haven't sold out anything but big time games over the last 10+ years.

206, the diff is we know our "D" is our weakness (not due to lack of talent) and UW defense was hyped with all the potential high draft picks. The diff is our offense is damn good and I can say with confidence that no other offense will do to UW what EWU did today.
