What are you hearing about Baker and Williams? I read an article that talked about Williams conditioning. I heard he is a tough competitor, great rebounder, and is a beast close to the basket, but is a bit out of shape.

Also, has anyone heard anything about the Box Elder kid, Mecham. I know that he was playing in pickup games with USU and Weber players this past June.

Box Elder's Mecham commits to Utah Valley

Article on TJ Taylor...However, there may be a few of you on here that might get a bit peeved. The article doesn't mention Weber as one of the schools looking at him, but mentions CU as one of his top suiters. From what I've been hearing Weber is among his top schools, but oh well, this is a decent analysis.

We are not looking for a pure point guard to sign this year. We are looking for a combo guard who can play a few positions as well as run the point, and I don't believe it to be Woods. My assumption based off of this information are the coaches must really love Jordan Richardson, and Jordan Baker might fit the bill perfectly for what we are looking to sign this fall if we can get him.

I agree. However, we would take Taylor, if he wants to come. If we don't get a point guard in this class, then it makes it important that we get one next year. Richardson is more of a point guard than Lillard and we may see a lot of them running together this year. Who ever we sign this year it will be with an eye toward a future without Lillard.

I agree with both of you (nice insight Weberski)...however, I wouldn't doubt that Rahe and co would take all of three, or four, or five, of those that were offered. Yes, I know there isn't enough Scholies for them all, but wouldn't it be great if that were to happen.

On a side note. A big recruit is coming either this weekend or next.

Our coaches seem quite happy with Brown's commitment. They say he is not just a shooter/scorer, but more of a complete package. They say he is quite atletic and can get to the rim and handle the ball. With him in our camp, and a D1 transfer, we potentially have just one open grant for 2011. If we get a commitment from another high profile recruit, we may be done for the year. With school starting this Monday, there should be some Saturday pickup games to take in. I really like our team. Randy is building it the right way and they are going to be fun to watch. Can't wait!!

I have a feeling that Jordan Baker will be on the Weber State campus either this weekend or next.

Why isn't this a thread anymore?

I think Brown is visiting the same weekend as Baker. The other player you are referring to is a name that has not been mentioned on this site, or any others. I heard the name once and can't remember it. It was an unusual name. Anyway, If Baker commits, we may be done for a while.

Tal, you are correct. A few of us talked to Jordan Baker and his father today. He is a very humble kid, seems like a great guy. We talked up the Dee upgrades, Weber's tradition, and Coach Rahe among other things. He'll be going to the big welcome back dance tonight with Damian Lillard and some of the others from the team. Keep your fingers crossed guys...this kid is a HUGE recruit...
