Picture of Traylor.

Honestly, with his family ties to WSU, It feels like this kid is a part of us already. It just feels right. :thumb: :thumb:

He is just coming home!!

I feel the Cats are in a market for a wing and big (PF) for 2015?

Emmanuel Nzekwesi has been offered.

According to Rivals...

6-8 215lbs F Isiah Thomas is being pursued by the Cats.

Along with Weber, Cal and UCSB are also recruiting Thomas.

Weber is also recruiting another 6-8 guy named Paul Thomas he is from Texas and has been officially offered.
Rice, Houston, Lehigh, and Western Kentucky have also offered Thomas. He is receiving interest from South Carolina and Stanford.

We've also got our eyes on a SF Curran Scott out of Edmond, OK. He doesn't have any offers yet but is receiving medium interest from multiple schools. He has a nice outside shot, works the lane well and has a smooth crossover. The one thing I did notice is that he can't shoot lefty, even with a layup. He has some great potential, but needs to work on that ambidexterity. If he starts it now, I know our staff can help him become a complete player and a huge asset to the 'Cats in our conference schedule. If we're going to do it, we should offer soon and show him that we believe in his future.

SG Rogers Printup, Orange, CA has been offered.

6'6" SF Kyren Block from San Antonio Texas has received an offer from the Cats.

A couple new offers:

4/30/2014 - 2015 PF Jordan Dallas (6-10, 190, 2★) has received an offer from Weber State. - See more at: http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/weber-state#sthash.mGkn2M8y.dpuf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

4/30/2014 - 2015 SG Armani Collins (6-4, 190, 2★) has received an offer from Weber State. - See more at: http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/weber-state#sthash.mGkn2M8y.dpuf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This looks a little bit like they are unsure of the D1 transfer market. If you can sign a better player in the fall than you can get in a transfer, then why not? The transfer would have to sit out a year anyway. We have a returning missionary and would only have one scholarship left if we sign a transfer. So, the fact that they are active in the 2015 market for freshmen, tells me that they are unsure about getting a high quality D1 transfer. :coffee:

Probably best to keep all of your options open. :thumb:

I'm wondering if Juan Anderson wishes he would have transferred now that he won't touch the ball with Carlino running the point.

As we sit now, Juan would have to work hard for minutes at Weber. He wouldn't be an automatic to start.

Barring some great player coming available on the transfer market, I think we are better off concentrating on signing a quality freshman in the fall. It sounds like we are in on some terrific HS talent. I think we will be looking for a sensational big wing player or a talented big combo player. Those are two elements that will take us up a notch. They are also elements that everyone in the country wants. It will be an interesting summer. :coffee:

Verbal commits is reporting that we have offered Jalon Miller, a 6'8'' power forward out of Dallas, Texas. 3.5 stars. One service has him as a 4 star and another has him as a 3 star. It looks like a combo big is the direction we are going, with one scholarship to give. :coffee:

What are our recruiting needs in the class of 2015? I know we have one scholarship available, but wouldn't be surprised to have some players leave over playing time.

Quick update: Darrian Traylor has committed to UC Irvine and DaShawn McDowell has committed to Tulsa. Also, Rahe and Co. have offered SG Riley Court from Pleasant Grove High School. I don't know anything about this kid, kinda shocked to see a Utah kid on our list. He plays AAU for Utah Basketball Club.

Offers of Right now
PG: Mister Harriel, Aaron McGlowen, Giovanni Collins
SG: Malek Harwell, Riley Court, Jalon Anderson, Paris Austin, Armani Collins, Harrison Hackney.
SF: Kyren Block, Emmanuel Nzekwesi
PF: Paul Thomas, Jalon Miller, Jordan Dallas, Truman Moore.
C: Isaiah Thomas, Greyson Smallwood.

Paul Thomas is a four star guy, Jallon Miller is a 3.5 star guy, Jordan Dallas is a 2.5 star guy all at PF. Greyson Smallwood and Isaiah Thomas are both 3 star guys. Malek Harwell is a 3 star guy.

I suspect that the Cats are looking to add a PF and a wing.

Looks to me like we are casting a relatively large net for having two roster spots open for that class. Also, considering that we have a missionary returning next spring, we may only be able to sign one new player. I know that transfers happen all the time, and that you need to be prepared, but all of our players are keepers. At least that is what I have seen so far. We have a very talented bunch.

I agree with you Tal. The emphasis seems to be on talented and versatile bigs. If a wing player is brought in, he would have to be better than anything we have. I think that Cannon is a combo guard and was listed at 6'2'' in high school.

Still surprise that we are not recruiting for 5's.....
James is done this year, Joel could be headed to the NBA in a year or two. I'm not sure if we have the needed depth. I see the conference is really recruiting bigs hard!

Recruiting in the conference is really picking up.
