It is a pleasure watching you on Saturdays do what you love to do for your Eagle Nations. We are really glad you are coming back for your Senior year, and to play with your younger Brother "Ketner".. Congratulations on your award, and there are many more to come. Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace

Interesting to see if EWU will give him (Pflug) a shot. He would have a huge chip on his shoulder to beat the Griz but would certainly have to compete with Hennesy for the future QB at EWU. I wouldn't be surprised if EWU isn't looking for a drop down FBS QB and OL also trying to improve that side of the ball as much as possible with Coop and Shaq coming back. Add in Kendrick and The Eags have the best WR corp in FCS hands down.

Pflug is nowhere near the talent of Hennessy.

I haven't really seen him ... but I agree!
Hmmm, if you haven't really seen him how can you agree or disagree?

1. One is an eagle and 1 is not.
2. I've seen Hennessy play.

Dareon Nash Highlights: I like him at WR. Not showing him as verbal to Montana on Scout, but Twitter still shows Montana commit.

This is my first year as an Eags fan. I've noticed that Montana already has 15 verbals and I have yet to see 1 for EWU. Is this typical? If so itbwiuldbseem that UM has an advantage of going out and getting the players they like most while we wait around for the leftovers...... Thoughts?

Montana's recruiting budget is much larger that EWU's. Montana is making offers and promises to soph/jrs all over the place then they shake the yatzee cup and see what comes out. I was privy to see EWU's recruiting budget compared to UW 2.3 mill for just recruiting(this was almost 15 years ago and i know it has gotten bigger), Their allotment for just stamps and cost of materials/brouchers and paying people to put those together then send them out by the thousands and then paying people to evaluate them and file them into classifactions....that whole process was almost equal to EWU'as entire recruiting allotment. Again this has changed but there's still huge gap.. as there is between Montana and ewu as far as recruiting budgets and that to is narrowing.

Well, there's a few different things going on, but it's not unusual for the scouting websites to have Montana or MSU as having several guys committed at this point. There's different reasons for that, but a lot of it has to do with media exposure (they have more because they're the only Division I schools in their state). We are usually aware of more verbals at this point, but I wouldn't read too much into it. You can be sure that, at this point, Eastern has several verbals and more on the way.

In terms of recruiting budgets - it's all kind of relative. Yes, Montana has a larger budget for recruiting. They also have to recruit most of their players out of state, whereas we recruit 75% within the state of Washington. So naturally, they're going to need a larger budget to be able to compete and get the guys that they require to be successful.

I'll update this thread tomorrow with what I know at this point...sorry I've kind of been on my ass on this thread. :thumb:

From ocvarsity.com

La Habra senior All-County first-team quarterback Eric Barriere will visit Eastern Washington on Jan. 8. Barriere has offers from Northern Arizona and Sacramento State.

QB Hank Hughes, Richardson, Texas, taking an official visit to EWU on Jan 15th. He has offers from Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Montana St, NDSU, NAU, and UNC. Originally gave a verbal to W & M, but recently decommitted.

One of these days I'm going to update this thread...I promise. :thumb:

That's quite a range of offers.

There was some buzz from some of the coaches on twitter about having future Eags in the house. Other than Piper and Barriers any word on others who might have been on campus?

jibjag68,
At the MBB Game last night I spoke to one of the Coaches, he stated we had 13 Recruits there at the game. A QB will be making his visit on Jan 15. I spoke to some of the Recruits, they seemed very impressed with the University, our coaches and program. Wish I could have remembered the Recruits names. In another month or less we will find out the names of our Recruits. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

There were some recruits on the red during half time of the mens bball game on Saturday. They had the video board playing the intro and some highlights. It was pretty cool to see, looked like they were enjoying it.

Watching Clemson-Bama and they mentioned Clemson has 5 new starters on the line this season.

Optimism!

Interestingly, Clemson and Alabama each were heavy with freshman throughout their two-deep. That Renfro kid was a freshman, and he's a monster receiver.

Again, two teams competing for a championship, both with stellar DL. Neither D was all that good last night, but both were stout in the middle. All the yards came through the air or on the outside.

I just don't think you can win in modern football without a quality DL.
