I'm excited about the Pierce commit. He was a sought after athlete. I read somewhere that Elijah Piper signed with Fresno State.

Held offers from Montana, North Dakota St, Sac St, and Weber St.

Always good to get a win over NDSU. Suspect because his EWU jersey pic says RB, he is slated for RB. Puts the Custer verbal as doubtful in my mind. Glad to have Pierce on board. Awesome picture on twitter.

Custer's facebook and twitter feeds both have the same graphic, and "RB" by his name. God, I feel like a stalker now.
So that's 3 commits at RB but it is also possible that one or more of these guys plays a different position in college. I could easily see Jason Talley playing LB, he certainly has the size.

I hope Custer is still on board. I like the way that kid plays.

Looks like a stud!

heck, screw the film, this kid runs a 10.8 100 yard dash at almost 200lbs already! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: No wonder he runs away from people in open field. Nobody catching this kid from behind! I hope he doesn't get more attention from BCS before it's all over.

EagInTexas,
This is one year I will not be attending the NLI at Northern Quest. I do not smoke or drink, and at my age now, the smoke in those areas bother my breathing. I even quit going to the Coaches Shows for that reason. I take my daughter and wait in the Parking Lot listen to Larry Weir and Coach Beau. I haven't gotten any information on the Recruits so far this year, will wait to see and hear it on SWX TV Station. They will be at the Function on Feb 3rd, along with Larry Weir, discussing the Recruits. It is at 07:00 a.m., if you are up that early. Happy New Year. Vic Wallace

air045,
I agree with you, Pierce looks like he could be another Smash Williams. He has a lot of speed, and like you said, he runs away from people. Can't wait to see our Recruits this Spring. Have you heard how many Recruits are coming our way? Vic Wallace

Nope, unfortunately I've been tied up at work I'm trying to catching up now. :)

Definitely going to need to bulk up his redshirt year

He's listed at 205 on his HUDL

The HUDL link that SigEp provided says 185.

With a 4.7 40, he'll either bulk and become a receiving TE or stay inside in the slot.

I hear a lot of stories in which EWU gains a player, because that player will get to play their preferred position. I wonder if Baldwin lets athletes have their preferred position with a higher interest into having talent on his roster, rather than a specific player at a specific spot. Anyone have more insight on this shower thought?

It does happen a lot in general. Players enjoy playing their original positions. I know there have been players in the MAC who were recruited by Big 10 schools, but they wanted them to switch positions. They'll opt to go to the smaller school so they can play their preferred spot.

Marcus Mariota is a good example. Oregon was one of only 2 FBS schools to offer him a scholarship as a QB. Others wanted him to walk on or convert to WR.

A 185lb tight end?

More likely what he's projected to play at. He played WR in HS, but may not have the speed to play that position in college. More likely he bulks out to around 225 and plays TE at that weight.

Looks like we can add one of the best WR's in Washington:

Kyle Olsen-Urbon WR
Gig Harbor

Thanks, guys. HUDL says Beaverton, OR. I am assuming he must have played his Senior year in Gig Harbor. Another nice pickup.

This is the QB we need! Vernon Adams 2.0. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2654154/highlights/321163381/v2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
