Unless something changed very recently, it looks to me like he committed to PSU.

Edit: My bad, he has a pinned tweet that he received a full scholarship from Portand State, but that was from October 29th. It says at the left he is an EWU commit.

After watching film on this guy, he is a QB.....Good arm and very accurate. If he was a few inches taller, he would be 3 or 4 star QB.

Looks like he's coming in as a preferred walk on.

I agree. Defensive end, probably strong side. Good size for it, and looks like he could add 50 pounds or so and still be lean and fast.

Keep in mind, we lose one OL (maybe, since he was injured and may be able to get another year), one DT and one DE. I'm sure we'll take more of those kids if they are real standouts, but I don't think getting a lot of linemen on either side is a big priority this cycle.

Not sure what he is recruited as. Looks VERY raw at WR. I would guess he is a fast off the edge DE or an outside LB.

These guys had him as the fourth ranked TE prospect this season in WA which had some very good TE's. Thought his film was intriguing as a longer guy with athleticism. Here was their evaluation:

McClain is a very raw unorthodox athlete. He lacks body control while running, but is still able to go up and make plays. His route running and speed are some areas that need work. He is full of natural athleticism but, will need to attack this off season to put in the work necessary to get better. He is projected as a tight end at the next level
