This is turning out to be an unusual year in FB recruiting for the State of Utah. There seems to be a lot more quality players than there are scholarships available. It's not just at Weber that we are seeing a high number of PWO commitments. I suspect that many of these kids will end up on a grant in the coming years. Many of these kids would have been signing to a scholarship in years past. It also speaks to the quality of players we are signing to grants. Our future looks quite bright.

I don't think it is all that different than previous years. We just hear about the PWOs more because athletes post them on line. Weber has always had several walk-ons who have made an impact.

Yes, I know that there are always quite a few walk ons. I guess I didn't say it well enough, but I meant to say that the quality of these walk ons seems to be higher than in the past I'm seeing guys with breakaway speed who are not getting the scholarship offers they wanted and are accepting PWO spots on teams accross the state. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me like the depth of quality coming out of Utah high schools is getting more significant.

This. The quality of athletes both in and out of state that we are recruiting is much better.

Looks like there were a bunch of official visits this past weekend, including Alema Tupuola (Davis HS) and Joshua Carter (Weber HS). Tupuola has not commited and Carter has committed. Looks like Tupuola has offers from Idaho St (has visited), Navy, Lehigh (has visited), and E Wash (has visited).

Anyone crazy enough to put together a list of PWO's and returning missionaries?

I think these are the remaining missionaries from the 2016 and 2017 signing classes. There are several players who transferred or did not return to Weber after serving missions in the 2015 and 2016 classes. Some of these may not complete their mission prior to the start of the 2019 season, though most will.

2016
Brayden Keim TE
Peni Mobley LB

2017
Blake Bartschi TE
Zeke Birch DL
Haze Hadley WR
Logan Lutui DE
Mitchel Maxfield LB
Kade Pupunu LB
Davis Rasmussen DE
Andrew Slack OL
