2019 Recruiting: 16 Signed LOI

It's a tool on the 247sports site. 247 lists commits and their ratings for teams, this is how they get their rankings for who has the top signing class ect... They don't always have everyone who has committed listed and/or all the players in their database but of all the players they have listed who have committed to Eastern and the ones I could find in their database who have a ranking (lots of unranked players), it added up to 100.2 last night. Of course, many of those haven't inked the deal yet. The 100.2 score would put Eag's in rare territory for an FCS school. That said, recruiting ratings have come a long way in the past 10 years. Some of these hudl's make the player look like players Eag's have just graduated or am I seeing things..

Ex: Jakobie moves a lot like Simba, Silas has McPherson moments, White and Edwards look like Lewis...
 
He's not in 247 but this video is awesome from his time at Eag's camp..

Kid looks like a workhorse. His signing highlight that was posted on Twitter this morning was great. This kid is gonna wreak havoc in the trenches.

Jakobie looks fast for sure, not sure what his 40 time is, but he's also a few inches taller than Simba at 6'2. Silas doesn't look like McPherson to me. Looks slower, bulkier, more of a bruiser, inside runner better suited to shed tackles than make the defender miss.

Time will tell. Liked Jakobie's ability to make guys miss considering his longer length for sure.. All these players will get faster and stronger if they stick. Can't wait to see the two previous classes on the field next season making their mark.

In some interesting news 247 sports does a composite rating, taking all the different websites that do ratings and average them out. I see EWU is ranked #136 which is pretty good, but the biggest shock is CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY is ranked #149. With their push to improve the athletic facilities how long until they are out recruiting us? By far an away the best D2 class

YIKES that is a great point! I still think we will out recruit them, but it will put a squeeze on things even more.
 
Nicholls State had a nice class. Added a couple of FBS capable people per Hero Sports. Out of all the playoff teams Eastern has faced in the past several years, the Colonels were a team I could appreciate. They kept after it the whole game, their DL was in our backfield all game and they will likely be better this year assuming they stay healthy. Plus who wants to see SHSU again? Done with Keeler and company.
