Good stuff, Palm Springs. You should work for one of those recruiting sites. You are on it!

I'm happy to share. I'm not doing any actual work here though. Just a few twitter follows and a couple of website checks.
Palm Springs is a mole! But he's our mole and for that we thank you.

Any ideas on Lincoln Victor from Vancouver? Rumors are it's between Eastern and Hawai'i. He's a solid kid who could play just about anywhere, but I'd assume he wants to be a receiver.

Also, what about the DL from Mead? I know our coaches have offered both... no idea where they may settle. Both would be instant impact guys in Cheney.

Chiawana high school in Pasco has a punter Elijah Perez who was invited to play in the blue/grey all american game is the #15 ranked punter in the nation. He's only been punting 2 years and has had no contact yet..he's a good student. We already have an offer in for a lb from there in AJ Vongphachanh.

How do we look at punter and place kicker for next year?
Big shoes to fill with Roldan Alcobendas gone. Such a huge part of the game.

Was Roldan on scholarship...I new a guy whos kid was a kicker at a local HS and he said EWU told him they dont offer scholarships to kickers its all academic....May have been just his kid and keep in mind this was 7 years ago.

I would think he worked his way up to a full scholarship especially punting and kicking and being an All-American. I believe kickers are asked to walk on (maybe even as a preferred). Longer than 7 years ago we had a kicker come in on a partial but he washed out 1st year. Do we have any punters/kickers in the wings?

There are 2 K/P and 1 P per the roster for last year. Slyter did most of the kicking off. 1 so. 1 rs fr and 1 freshman..

If all three stick, not sure another about adding another..

HUDL for kickers..

Reviewing kickers reminds me of the night I watched Rodrigo Blankenship miss by hitting the crossbar in a downpour from 55 yds against my son's team a few years back. Rodrigo is the Georgia kicker with the weird glasses. It was the same night the kid from CV hit the 65 yarder.

Curious how he is rated 3* . He had offers from us and Central but interest from UW/OR/OSU.

You can't overthink 247's rating system. Of all the recruiting sites, they seem to be the most out-of-synch.

That said, the way Eastern recruits receivers, you'd have to think this kid must be pretty darn talented to get offered.

Plus, schools can't document who they offer. These sites are totally dependent on the student-athlete for reporting their own offers. Just because the site only shows offers from Eastern and Central doesn't mean they were the only two that offered.

Would recruits tend to overstate their offers or downplay them?

That's not a game they play as a rule. As far as the ranking, 247 subsumed Scout and it's the same guys doing the ratings. Overall think they are doing a reasonable job. These players get a lot more coaching early than ever we did in my day. This WR is about a smooth as they come, lots for our coaches to work with.

Very good athlete with elite speed. It will be interesting to see which side of the ball he ends up on.
If he's even....he's leavin. There's a lot to work with here. Kid has Breakaway speed and can highpoint the ball. Catches it in traffic. These are highlights.
I always wonder how many lowlights there were. Lots of potential though.

go eags!
