Well, that's gonna get confusing. Asher throwing to Ashar. Granger is a WR-FS who did have a carry last year for 31 yards. Per MaxPreps, Granger put up over 1,100 receiving yards and averaged more than 11 yards a catch over his HS career on 89 receptions. He got 12 TDs. In 2021, Granger nabbed 51 balls for 554 yards (10.9 avg) with a long of 44 and 6 TDs. He had two solo tackles at free safety. During his sophomore year, Granger returned 5 kickoffs for 95 yards. One point of concern: Granger only played 5 games his junior year. No details on that, though. Overall, though, he seems like a good "get." The Asher-to-Ashar connection could go big.
There may be a possibility that he may also play hoops. His team was in the Southern Section D-IIIAA playoffs, where they lost last week to Moreno Valley-Rancho Verde 58-26. They finished 18-9 (7-1 Sunbelt). They were ranked #15 in Southern Section Division III-AA, and #59 across Cali in Division III. In football, JW North was 11-1 (4-0 Sunbelt), winning the Sunbelt and earning a home game in the opening round of the Southern Section D-V playoffs, which North won 48-21 against Mission Viejo-Capistrano Valley. North lost at home in the quarters to the eventual section runners-up Westlake Village-Oaks Christian 24-21.
No word at this early date on numbering, but at North, Granger wore 11 for football and 22 for hoops.
