2022 Eastern Football Recruiting Class LOI Dec 15th & Feb 2nd 18 Total

Heard today EWU offered QB Jackson Esary out of Kamala, WA. They won 2B championship(player of the year). He has some impressive stats. Maybe someone heard something about Joshua Wood and felt the need to offer another QB? Who knows? https://247sports.com/Player/Jackson-Esary-46098028/

I think he was offered in June.

Well, he's never seen a long pass he doesn't think he can make :-)

A lot of the mid season things I read had him as the number 1 QB in Washington. Pretty impressive stats. I know it's 2B football but he had 2B skills players around him so he made that team better is my read of it. Big arm. A lot to like.

Got a chance to see Jackson play at Kalama and he is special. I knew he was offered early but have heard nothing. I know he is also a great hoops player so maybe looking at hoops.

I saw an offer and a commit on Twitter today. Kennewick linebacker Myles Mayovsky with a commitment and an offer to a Transfer LB out of Villanova with 2 years eligibility Qwahsin Townsel. He also picked up offer from Towson. Im not as savvy as y’all with posting things from my phone.

NIce work Double E ;-) Myles is another Mr. Everything for his team. Love players with that kind of awareness. Plays eyes up.

Good news on Maovsky as he was considered best in Tri-Cities and surrounding area. Those guys that play rb/lb all game amaze me. Was all-state rb will be a great hard working teamate. Led Kennewick to 3rd place 4A. cool!

Went back and re-watched his senior season highlights... Super impressed with his quick jab/split steps (much like a good tennis player :-) ) and his ability to block downfield. Handled edge rushers well too. In my opinion, Eastern really needed to do a better job run blocking in space for the run game and this player fits the bill.

Notice Wood didn't commit to Nevada must still hoping for something better. Also noticed he mentioned full ride scholarship which is only scholarship fbs can offer. First thought was he said that cause he's been offered partial...at EWU(pretty sure EWU would offer a full to him) but oh well.

What will be, will be... I don't know what he was offered from Eastern. With the portal being what it is, not sure how many gift horses a QB who will likely sit where ever they go can look in the mouth. It's got to be tough at certain positions with all the talent available that has matured and had more coaching for some HS players; QB for sure. I like that Jackson Esary player just as much on video. Of course, I haven't interviewed either and Josh's win over Collins Hill was impressive. ;-)

Thought I had seen that Wood was headed to Nevada but I guess it was just an offer. Hopefully he sticks with EWU, but there was a reason that he didn’t sign a LOI in the early period.

Also offered by Fresno State.

Just found this video from a recent commit who is super happy to be an Eastern Eagle... gritty musical remake of "fly like an eagle"

It’s pretty clear he’s holding out for a Pac-12 offer. If that doesn’t materialize then the real question becomes does he want to sit on the bench at a mediocre Mountain West program or go to EWU with a real shot at being a 4 year starter.

Wood has withdrawn his commitment to EWU.

Saw that. Not surprised. It didn’t ever seem like he was an “all in” guy. Good look to him.

Cited coaching changes as a primary concern/reason... He recently visited Fresno. McCann just went to Fresno as well. Kirby Moore and Pat McCann are listed as the coaches recruiting Wood per 247Sports.
