What are we expecting from this game? Of course, I'm thinking blowout victory, but it is a great chance to see what our guys are capable of. I'm thinking the Wizard will be playing a bunch of different lineups to see who plays best with each other, chemistry, offensive and defensive lineups and etc. Still...I don't care if it is only an exhibition, I'm totally excited for the start of basketball season.

Im just excited to once again have a chance to watch this team play, I am READY for hoops season

On paper, Adams State looks to be a good team from a lower division. They won 20 games last year, but appear to be a mostly new team this year. They have three guys 6'9'' or taller and have several in the 6'5'' to 6'7'' range. They will not be smaller than us, like many lower div. teams. They play USU on Friday night, so they could be a little road weary. However, I expect them to be competitive. It looks to me like a good exhibition game. They score about 75 points a game, but give up just under that. Turnovers and defense will be the difference in this one. Our guys are going to need to work to look good against these guys. :twocents:

This seems like a high-quality opponent from a lower division that should be a nice warm up for the season. Naturally, WSU's team depth will make this a blowout, but hopefully their bigs will test Tres and Joel a little bit. This will be a good opportunity to see what the young guns look like in game situations.

I'll admit it. I had no idea that Adams State had such a good year last year. I like having an exhibition against a quality opponent. Make that opponent push us. What do you get from a game where it is over too quickly?

Adams st? this is Adams st we are talking about here right? GOOD HELL! This will be a fun opportunity to watch our team and that is it (probably less competitive than the P&W game) I will never call any exhibition team a quality opponent.
And if you guys really have enough time to research this garbage team then hit me up, I have plenty of yard work for people to help me with to cure your boredom. :ohno:

i am not sure if losing an exhibition is on the radar no matter how good the oponent is at their level. though....i think in 2008 we almost lost an exhibition and won in overtime. :bad: but im predicting that 2008 would get served by 2014.

Yard work isn't something YOU have to worry about living in student housing.

Always in the gutter with your thoughts. Have you not noticed that there are mountains behind campus and also, a great view of the valley? Why ya gotta bring your pervness/bengalhaterness to this board?

Utah State beat them last night 86 - 55. That beat down either made them stronger or it demoralized them. I still think that they will give a good effort against us. However, I think that our guys are ready to go. I will be shocked if this isn't a blowout. I think that our freshmen will get a lot of PT.

Tonight, pay attention to how high in the air our Freshmen can fly. I've seen Senglin and Gittens almost hit their heads on the rim. Hill and Fuller can get on the rim with ease as well. :yikes:

Wasn't expecting this and was hoping for much better. Very little has impressed so far. Senglin and Gittens can sure get to the rack but most of the team trying to go one-on-one. Besides Bolomboy's swats the only thing that has had me excited was a double on top that quickly led to a Tres dunk. Need more and better D and sharing of the ball. USU ran these guys out of Logan.

Agreed. Half the time they don't need to get to the rack, they could pass. And if your going to get to the rim and get fouled, MAKE YOUR FOUL SHOTS!!! I don't think we've practiced since we lost to ECU. Ridiculous

That was not what i expected, but it was fun watching the freshman get some good playing time against a pretty athletic team. But missed free throws will cost us wins if we can't start knocking them down.

Missed free throws made this game closer than it should have been. However, that was a good DII team. They are going to win a lot of games this year. I don't know what happened to them in Logan, but I suspect the refs called even more fouls than we saw tonight. They did a lot of hand checking, pushing and hacking at the ball. The good thing about a game like this is that we will see similar tactics from a couple of BSC teams. This game gives us a list of things to work on in practice. For the most part, our freshmen did a nice job out there, and I think they will settle down and play better in the future. :thumb:

I wouldn't worry too much about this game. This is why we have these games. I just wish we had one or two more because it does take some time for any team to click 100%. I watched UC San Deigo play an almost even game against Pitt and Dixie just beat UNLV.

It looks as if I have to eat some crow on this one. Adams St played their a$$es off. The way Adams St played tonight, they would beat at least half of the Big Sky teams. It was good for WSU to have a test and get a game on film to point out their own weak areas. Thank baby Jebus Randy Rahe is our coach and WSU has some real talented ball players. :notworthy:
