I heard that coach was steaming after the game. Last time he got that mad the guys got stuck with some intense two-a-day practices. Guess the guys have another round of tough practices today. They got beaten on Sunday and yesterday.

I remember seeing on this thread (before this game was ever played) that this year, this team could be considered to be one of the best... says a fan from 2008 - present!!! Uhhh... first game of the year so I'll give em time to get better but man they looked pretty crappy! Selfish ball... come on guys PULL YOUR HEADS OUT!!!

Sorry the foul shots bugged me more than the Defense. Foul shots cost us the Big Sky and CIT championships. Missing 20 foul shots doesn't seem like improvement.

i have a question about the high number of free throw attempts we had in the game...was it just aggressive defense by adams st or home cooking or was it related to ncaa rule changes that have started this season regarding hand checking? rule changes being a point of emphasis in exhibtion games would not be surprising.
the change is in hopes to make high scoring games but doesnt that mean the game would be slower and more boring and less rhythm?
These rules include:
• Keeping hand or forearm on an opponent.
• Putting two hands on an opponent.
• Continually jabbing an opponent by extending an arm or placing a hand or forearm on the opponent.
• Using an arm bar to impede the progress of a dribbler.
is it just me or are you all thinking the same thing - uh the new rules are to call games like big sky refs? theyve always been known for the ticky-tack nonsense to ruin any conf game. then u go play another conf and its a whole new game and your at a disadvantage. lol

It was a little of all of those things. Adams was doing a lot of hand checking, grabbing, and hacking. The refs actually let a lot go that could have been called. It was truly an ugly game. Every year they have an emphasis like this and every year it only lasts for a week or two, except in the BSC.
The biggest problem that I saw was that some of our guys were backing away from it. The refs are going to call what ever they want. Our guys just need to learn to play with it and through it. I think that game is going to help us a lot, in terms of toughness and mental attitude.
In the long run, if a lot of guys are fouling out, this year's emphasis may tend to open the game up a little bit.
