The same thing goes for the poor behavior of some BSC coaches. If the refs don't like being bullied by some of these guys, they should stop letting the coaches call the game for them, do their job, and put those whiners in their place. I really don't want to see any more coaches hugging or patting refs on the a$$ before a game starts (Tinkle). It's a little non hetero and totally unprofessional. It also gives one the impression of impropriety. :yikes:
Wow... How classy. You think it's also "non hetero" for Weber players to do the same thing? Maybe you should go ahead and bring that to the attention of coach Rahe and see what he has to say about it. Let me know how that goes will ya?
Anyway... It cracks me up reading through this thread. Some of you guys go on and on like Weber players & coaches never do things like working the refs. Hell, last year your announcer spent about the entire broadcast whining about Tinkle working the refs while ignoring Rahe doing the same thing!
Do you watch Rahe during the games at all? Any good coach works the refs as much as they can get away with.
As for flopping jesus tap dancing christ... you guys had one of the all time best floppers in the history of flopping on your roster last year. Bamforth was great at it! He was a great trash talker too (yep, Weber players trash talk too just like others!) I don't mean that as smack against Bamforth either. Would have loved to have him play for the Griz. He was also very good at working the refs during the game.
To tell you the truth in all my years of watching college basketball I can only think of one other player in the Big Sky that's ever been a better flopper than Bamforth. I forget the kids name, but I think he played for NAU back around 2001 or 2002. He could take any player out of the game by getting them in foul trouble.
Don't get me wrong, the Griz have had some damn fine floppers too. As the other Griz fan pointed out Gregory is pretty good at it. Hell, Criswell would be right up there close to Bamforth (or tied). He was very good at initiating contact but getting the call to go his way by making it look like he was the one who was being fouled. Of course other players in the Big Sky (Beitzel) have been very good at it too. Notice a common theme here? Floppers are usually pretty damn good players too who know the game very well and what they can get away with
This thread reminds me of the one last year where some of you guys were trying to make it sound like you recruit nothing but angels who would never touch an alcoholic beverage, talk smack during a game, or swear.
Some of you really need to take the purple blinders off and realize that your team and coaches do the same damn thing you're accusing others of doing.
