All plans are for Tourney to be at Butler-Hancock

Looks like the Greeley hotel and restaraunt business may be getting a nice boost next week, with the Bears likely hosting BOTh the men's and women's tournaments. Not a bad effort a school that's only been a full-time D-1 member for four years.

Yep big time kudos to them, its a big time accomplishment. Im hoping they can keep being a big time team.

I swear the Big Sky Conference administrators lie awake at night dreaming up new and innovative ways to alienate their fan base. Why in God's name would you allow a conference tournament -- theoretically the conference's showcase event -- to be held in a facility in which it will be difficult for anyone to get tickets??

As for teams not bringing 100 people, please. Most university traveling parties for conference tournaments are approximately that size, not including the bands. Boise and Denver both have a large number of Montana alums, and I would expect that a good number of them will want seats. It's just crazy to allow a conference tournament in a venue holding 2,600.

I agree, you should have at least 5,000 capacity to host in your arena, the traveling Montana and Weber fans would fill Butler alone, they should have made UNC host it somewhere else.

IT'S VERY SAD THAT THE TOURNAMENT IS BEING HELD THERE. NORTHERN COLORADO BETTER BE EXCITED ABOUT HOW GOOD THEY ARE CAUSE IT WILL NEVER BE HELD THERE AGAIN. AT LEAST THEY WILL NEVER WIN IN OGDEN UNTIL WE GET ANOTHER "JOE CRAVENS!" SACS ONLY WIN IN OGDEN WAS JOE'S LAST YEAR.

Can't wait for the games next week!!!!!!! WSUnPurple...... Look who the Big Sky Champs are ... TIME TO EAT CROW!!!!

Good luck Weber hope we see you guys Wed night!

Unfortunatly winning the BCS regular season means basicly nothing. The season really starts saturday. Good luck in the tourny remeber the monkeys on UNC's back this year.

bearsden: Congrats to UNC for winning the regular season title, but don't you have a UNC board to hang out at? The tournament title won't come easily (as Weber has shown the last two years). All the Bears have accomplished is (who cares) bid to the NIT.

Yes that is very true but just remember one thing. This "regular season" UNC is Undefeated @ home. I'm glad we have that "monkey." We have 4 seniors who have been waiting for this opportunity and they can't wait!

I'm on that one too. Wow you guys lose and you turn into a bunch meanies. :ohno:

It's a shame that the tourney is going to be played in that high school gym over there in Greeley. That's going to make a great impression on the ESPN audience. Of course, I wouldn't mind if it's mostly empty when Weber beats NAU and cuts down the nets....

Rubbing what in? I'm just discussing the BSC and my alumni. Just stating the facts.

And keep dreaming!

im happy for unc, we are 3rd so we can't say too much about that but knowing our game vs ewu had 6,261 attendance that is double a sellout and then some in greeley. why didn't they proceed with that bud weiser facility for the conference tournament?

blame the ncaa for that one.

i do know one thing wsu only puts up banners for regular season titles and not for the years that we were hot for 2 days and got to the ncaa tourney.

unc got the regular season title, i envy that.

Cat I personally thought they would do it that way. Considering it had more seating and was right off a major highway. I think that considering we have a pretty good home-court advantage at butler, they want to keep it there with the city and the students. Not to mention being safe is a big concern. Drinking and driving 20 miles away from Greeley def is reality. We serve beer at our games so they don't want any stupid students to hurt themselves or others after a possible big celebration.

i wonder if it wont be as bad as we think. there are some small conferences every year hosting in small venues. i remember vermont vs boston last yr in im sure a 3,500 type gym.

psu hosting in an empty looking nba stadium wasn't exactly brag worthy
