This day in age, it's hard to understand, but for some people it's not all about making more money, fame and all the flashy things. Coach B will probably leave SOMEDAY, but in my opinion, it's not going to be to the likes of a Nevada.
Say his salary triples to over 700k...if he took the Nevada job. Cool...that's a lot of money. Then what? He builds the program up to a possible bowl team after a couple years. He's now living comfortably with a competitive team in a crappy conference. If all goes according to plan, maybe he opens enough eyes and then is able to take a P5 job. What if it doesn't? Look at Bobby Hauck...he was a good coach at Montana and he left for the UNLV job. Same state, same conference, arguably better name brand than a Nevada. He failed miserably! Who's fault was that...hard to say. Very good coaches have gone to bigger programs like Hauck at UNLV and failed, maybe not because they're a bad coach, but because it's really hard to survive in the no man's land of college football. Hard to fund, hard to get fan support, and hard to recruit. So, if things don't work out after 4-5 years.. you may have a couple million in the bank (not chump change) but then you're out a job and you can't live out the rest of your life on 2 million bucks...especially raising a family and being as young as Coach B.
Yes, he's severely underpaid here at EWU...to no fault of the program, but due to lack of budget ability. But, he what he does have is reputation, the proven ability to recruit top notch players, comfort in knowing his job will always be safe and a comfortable, very livable wage for any area....let alone this area. Also, he can win National Championships. I've said for years on this site, that Baldwin isn't going to leave just for the money. If the PERFECT job opportunity comes around, he's going to consider it and he should...but it isn't Nevada people. And let's be real....as much as I believe in Coach B...Oregon isn't looking to pay an FCS coach 8+ million per year to come take over. Phil Knight is just too "prideful" for that. If I'm wrong...I'll be the first to admit it and wish him luck. Until BB is announced as the new head coach somewhere else, I'll stay focused on what a fantastic coach, leader, and person he is here at my alma mater!! Go Eags!
