Another Beau Baldwin scare

Saw on twitter that the coaches show tonight was canceled, wonder if Beau is interviewing somewhere??

Not that I think it means anything, but it wasn't cancelled. There wasn't one scheduled for tonight.

I believe Mondays are the team day off, coincidence?
Any Baldwin sightings in Reno??

Nothing that I can see online....everyone seems to be in stealth mode.

If it is any consolation guys, last night I had a dream that EWU moved Beau to offensive coordinator and that (for some reason) prevented him from leaving the team. Some may say this is a silly dream.

I say it was a vision.

I'd suspect it's less distracting than you might think. It sounds like the Richmond coach is leaving. I'd hope Baldwin would finish the season, or at least through the end of the semifinal weekend if we make it there.

If Baldwin leaves, it's not a bad thing... It's the natural order of things. Eastern is a great job, and coaches have been getting big gigs after leaving Cheney. While I think Coach Best would be an awesome hire, I'm sure we'd have a lot of talent interested in the job.

I have started to accept the soon to be reality and am going through candidates and my top choice is Jimmy Lake. He would be a fantastic hire and he could keep some of the staff in place. He coached with Best and Baldwin, I'm sure he would listen to them on the guys not offered positions with Beau.

I think if he makes it back to Cheney without a contract or agreement he will end up staying and get a nice restructure for him and his coaches. Just doesn't seem like a good fit....so says the armchair QB.
Also heard Lake on the radio today and he seems very happy with UW position but you could tell he was playing things close to the vest and saying all the right coach speak. Wouldn't mind him coming Home to EWU.
My thinking is that if Baldwin does go ....like you all said it should be Best or Taylor. My only problem with Taylor is that he seems to be a shooting star..a hot pick up for someone else...he would be here for a couple years ....get his wins/experience and then be gone. Then we would be back at this. One thing for sure is our AD knows how to hire and I have a 100% confidence in his hires. Go Eagles!

I did see on the 11 pm News, where the Spokesman Review did mention that Coach Beau had an interview with Nevada. I am glad for him, that doesn't mean he is leaving. I heard that $30,000,000,.00 was taken out of the GWP Fund, and given to the Students. I didn't know we had that much secured, if it is true. I heard from two individuals that are not affiliated with EWU. A Lady who is a big time Griz Fan, her son played for UM, she said she was really disgusted with the Article from the Review. Surprised someone didn't mention anything on the Blog. Lets get ready for this cold weekend Playoff. Go Eagles

If he is offered the Nevada job and takes it I'll be the first to congratulate CBB and wish him well. He has taken the program to a new level as well as raising expectations each year.

Sadly, during his time the school and alumni haven't been able to come up with the funds to improve the facilities so it would take a big school to pry him away.

Hopefully, he won't take too much of the staff with him but wouldn't be surprised if he did. I would.

Putting my pure cynic hat on, fear has always been that the new Presidente's record with money handling and dare I say "academics". Put a big pot of money in front of these people and they can't help themselves. And Dopa, it doesn't matter if it is $10 dollars or a $1,000,000,000. Cynic hat off.

I think Vic was misquoting a previous article about the PUB renovations that said "some of the gateway project goals will be met with this remodel" (tom quayle's loose memory translation, not a direct quote).

I don't think there was $30mm set aside, not no way, not no how.
