August 23rd vs Sam Houston State on ESPN

Gotta love the Sam Houston Fans, very confident.

- They beat us in 2012 but if Adams plays the entire game, we probably score 100.
- They beat us pretty good last year. We had already played 2 FBS road games, they hadn't yet left the state of Texas when we played. No excuse, they beat us pretty good.
- 2004 was a LONG time ago

This year, they have a new coach who hasn't beaten EWU and a bunch of Superstars who haven't yet seen the field. They have a new system, and a ton of new skill players that we don't know how good they really are, including Sam Houston. We know what we have with our players. Adams has 9 td's in 6 quarters against the Bearkats.

You have the #1 team in the country, playing at home, and looking for revenge. This game is going to be ugly. Sam Houston should be happy if this game is within 2 TD's.
 
With all the talk about the unknowns being a factor I agree. But I disagree with the thought of Adams playing the entire game in 2012 means a win. Our defense game planned for Padron who was overmatched. THEN VS came in (as an unknown) and torched is clearly. BUT, once given an off season to plan, a sketchy Kats Defense was dominant. If it wasn't for a blown coverage and a missed tackle, EWU may have only scored 14-21 points. But that's the past, this is a new chapter so we shall see...4 days and counting folks.
 
I agree with y'all, ALOT of unknowns for SHSU! However that is what make us dangerous and I bet EWU fan base scared, nervous, intimidated, etc... You name it.

As MK posted above, EWU was dominated last year by a very sketchy defense and that shows me a lot about ol' VS. The kid may just be one of the best players to ever play FCS, but there is nothing like under estimating a team when you are playing at home in front of your crowd with the #1 ranking against a team that has smacked the BIG SKY teams in the mouth as of late. The past is the past; we just might be the most underrated team in the country.
 
Eagle fans, I dare not worry about the Bearkats. They are a bunch of posers who are trying to hitch their wagon to a has been coach who won a couple of games and a Championship years ago. Their last coach was a bust, their new coach is bust, they dont have a quarterback who could even start for a high school team let alone deserve to be on the same field as us. This one is going to be over by halftime, and we will never have to deal with those dumb rednecks again. Come back and cheer for us in post season, you will have a great view from the sidelines.
 
A fact few people realize is Keeler went 49-41 in conference at Delaware. That is barely above 50%. His playoff appearances were few and far between (four out of eleven seasons). That's why you don't see him coaching an FBS team.

Willie Fritz was far superior to KC Keeler and left when he knew the ship was sinking.
 
Sam Houston State is like the kid who wants to date the prom queen. But the poor little band geek will just have to stayhome and play with his pecker in the sleeve of his favorite jacket.

Keeler has brought in more talent and created more support than Fritz could ever dream of. Fritz SUCKED last year. He wasn't a leader or motivator. He allowed crappy coordinators ruin SHSU's season...yet he was good enough to run your overrated team into the ground with a sub-mediocre D and puss puss predictable playcalling.

Fritz may be better than Keeler, but it's not looking that way so far.

If EWWW fans had any sense they would be more concerned about that pathetic excuse they call a defense or worrying about their QB completing a ONE yard pass instead of talking trash to a team that's rushed for nearly 900 yards on them the past two seasons.

As I have said on here as well as my board! It will be competitive and shit we may just win! However if we do unfortunately lose, I will along with MK eat crow or eagles or whichever. It is always fun to have a board to banter back with and folks not get offended, I am speaking directly to you Eaglefan99!

RJones61 knows his stuff and brings it hard in the paint, If you dish it you have to be able to take it!

Someone sounds like he is starting to worry a little bit. Did someone let his mouth overload his backside? You came on to our board running your mouth like an elementary kid. We can take it, we can take whatever you want to throw at us. There is a reason we are ranked higher than you. Because we are just that much better. So on Saturday sit with your mommy, a plate of cookies and a warm glass of shut the hell up. We are going teach you cocky rednecks what football is about.
 
It's a fan board... this kind of banter is par for the course. That's why we all come back!

I think everyone is of the same mindset, regardless of how they posture on the board. It's a new year, and no ones really knows how their team can perform. Eastern is much better than any scout team the Bearkats can put together, and the converse is equally true. Everyone looks good against their scout team.

I think Sam Houston State has a few more variables working against them... therefore, I think Eastern is a legitimate favorite. And while Sam Houston State has been virtual kryptonite to Eastern over the last couple of seasons, that may be offset by the fact Eastern tends to play well in their first game each season.

You could make arguments for either team and have a defensible position.
 
No, you cannot argue that SHSU could win this game. How could we ever hope to reach Egriz status with that kind of objectivity? I demand that the remainder of this thread be littered with homophobic and racist posts laced with personal threats. Begin.
