Bears Vs Wildcats

Just brought up the game and see we are getting destroyed. The sad thing is I legitimately just forgot we were even playing today I'm so apathetic about this terrible program. Until they fire this clown I have very little interest.

I stopped at 17-0 and went on with my day.

Out doing chores, come back home and check score and be like:
giphy.gif

Here's what is truly sad:
1. Young men work hard all year long for a coaching staff that can't manage a clock
2. First series- so much confusion on 3rd down - but no time out called to take a breather and ensure proper play called-
3. shanked field goal attempt
4. Play calling for a team with momentum going into the 4th quarter down 17 points after intercepting the ball- run, run, run and waste half the quarter for a darn pass to the same kid (bless his soul) who has continuously either dropped or fumbled the ball- and ultimately end up with a field goal- and loss of momentum.
5. A coach who placates to families instead of playing the best players due to pure talent.
Little League coaches know better than this.....It's not a lack of talent with the players- it's a waste of talent due to the inept coaching staff that has been allowed to stay here despite an abysmal record. Not one college in the country would stand for this. Why is UNC? Why are we? Who are we hurting? The young men. This has to stop immediately.

What do you mean "placates to families"?

Placate- to soothe or mollify especially by concessions.....seems pretty clear. Keeps families happy by doing what they want instead of playing the best talent......couldn't be much clearer.

I know what it means, but what evidence do you have that this is what occurs?

Oh brother. Give me a break...have you been to a game lately or do you spend your time trolling the boards all the time?

It's just a question. That's you're opinion of what's happening; but not mine. I think this staff hasn't recruited well enough to compete w/ the Big Sky.

It is tough to stay positive when you see the kids not prepared to play a game. Here are my thoughts...
1. Collin's press conference shows that he is out of touch and hasn't learned much about being a head coach in the past losing 6+ seasons. Frankly I do not understand the motivation of him to want to stay at UNC under all the criticism. I pray for his sanity and personal life.
2. Collins says that the game is simpler and should not be complicated. Sounds like he was the Weber State head coach. Weber had 3 RBs with 41 rushes for 220 yards, a 5.4 avg. Out of 8 receptions, Weber's FBs had 5 of them for 59 yards, a 11.8 avg. SIMPLY PUT, dominating!!! Blame it on Boyer. His play calling is terrible. He has NOT been on a winning team (over 500%) in 6+ years!!! Neither has Collins for that matter.
3. Boyer's calls come in late and the players say that they are too complicated. That is why we look lost while the play is coming in from the sideline. And after it comes in, it looks like a Chinese fire drill. The coaches are NOT preparing the kids. BAD COACHING!!!
4. Regarding Boyer's decision to play a Freshman QB in this situation is bad. Not only will he get beat up playing behind this unprepared O Line, but I do not think Knipp can provide the LEADERSHIP that this team needs. Knipp has excellent talent, just not the right guy at this time. Ironically, Newsome will get numerous opportunities to play when Knipp has to come out to rest from being pounded.
5. Our D Line and O lines are being man-handled. I believe that during the spring the members of this message board (as well as I) questioned strength coach Dinky's ability to put together a D-1 workout program. Our line play shows that he has failed. Again I state that he is the ONLY strength coach in the Big Sky who is not a certified CSCS (certified strength & conditioning specialist). He came with Collins from Alcorn.
6. Why hasn't Floyd played on the O Line yet? The players say that he is a beast. Some other players also say that Boyer has some beef with him and has over-ruled the O Line coach.
I predict that if we have another terrible game against Sacramento, then...
- Collins fires Boyer, or
- Collins is fired, or
- both of them are fired (best case scenario).
At this time it would be the most positive thing to do for the kids and the program.

He is NOT going to be fired. We've got to accept this reality.

This team is deep with talent. We should be 4-0 right now. Some of our best players stand on the sidelines and watch the game and I cant figure this out. What is Collins motivation to sit players that can contribute. I know that if you a player "pisses" (Collins speak) him off he sits him. I don't care if Collins doesn't like a player, he needs to be man, grow up, and move on. The defense is as good as it was last year, but once again they spend too much time on the field. The offense is ill prepared to compete, Boyer is in over is head. My prediction that this week, we lose to Sac State falling to 2-3, Collins unravels and fires Boyer. He needs a new excuse to save his job, so he will continue to blame others.

While I do not know the behind the scenes stuff, I have to ask how is Collins still your coach? And how on earth did he get a contract extension last year? Your team has some very talented players but lack of Coaching adjustments killed the Bears on Saturday. To give up 254 yards rushing to a team playing without their starting RB is inexcusable. Anywho, thanks for the great weather, and as always the UNC Bears fans that I got to talk to were very polite and very welcoming. You Bears fans deserve better than what is being put on the field, and hopefully things get turned around in Greeley sometime soon. Best of luck the rest of the season.

He keeps the kids graduating and off of the police scanner. That's more important (it is in the long run) than winning football games to our a.d.

I'm biased because I like the guy, but trying to be as objective as possible I fail to think of many coaches I've been around that were ahead of Boyer in terms of knowledge, ability, effort, demeanor, and fair treatment of players. Peterson is probably the only one I can say without a shadow of doubt (he really was cut from a different cloth).

That is a JOKE!!! What he keeps is them out of the newspaper....Should I start naming the kids who have been arrested and what their offenses were, because I can do that? Collins and/or Dunn and/or Norton and/or the Monfort's own the Tribune. Ask yourself this....Jace Davis..disappeared from the lineup. Anyone ever know why? Of course not, because Collins wouldn't admit he was kicked from the team for failure to go to a game. Most towns, with a high profile player, that would have been all over the press....not a peep. So please don't spout his record of keeping kids off the scanner. Some of us know better. There have been kids arrested for assault, theft, etc. and no one was the wiser. They kept their scholarships, starting positions, etc. It all depends on who you are as to IF you get away with that.

Please. The Tribune has always reported when players and the program in general is in trouble w/ the law. Go back for your self and look at the years when Dalton was the head coach. A player was on the front page every day in trouble. Why would they all of the sudden stop reporting? You sound like someone who was jaded by the coaching staff. Either that or you have a family member that was on the team or a friend. We were also told Collins was racist because no position player could be white. That's simply not true because look at Reik and before him Wolpen. Both white running backs.

Any arrest is a matter of public record, this could be proven or disproven with a little research. I'm not sure where that info is available but it is out there.
