Bears Vs Wildcats

Any arrest is a matter of public record, this could be proven or disproven with a little research. I'm not sure where that info is available but it is out there.

Oh but wait, there's a vast conspiracy that Monfort now owns the Tribune and Collins/Monfort/Norton hide the information about arrests. Lame!!!

Southern Utah kicked the hell out of Weber State this weekend. My guess is we just saw the last win of the season for our Bears.

I don't know, Davis is O-fer the season and we get them for Homecoming after the bye.

While I do not know the behind the scenes stuff, I have to ask how is Collins still your coach? And how on earth did he get a contract extension last year? Your team has some very talented players but lack of Coaching adjustments killed the Bears on Saturday. To give up 254 yards rushing to a team playing without their starting RB is inexcusable. Anywho, thanks for the great weather, and as always the UNC Bears fans that I got to talk to were very polite and very welcoming. You Bears fans deserve better than what is being put on the field, and hopefully things get turned around in Greeley sometime soon. Best of luck the rest of the season.

He keeps the kids graduating and off of the police scanner. That's more important (it is in the long run) than winning football games to our a.d.

That is a JOKE!!! What he keeps is them out of the newspaper....Should I start naming the kids who have been arrested and what their offenses were, because I can do that? Collins and/or Dunn and/or Norton and/or the Monfort's own the Tribune. Ask yourself this....Jace Davis..disappeared from the lineup. Anyone ever know why? Of course not, because Collins wouldn't admit he was kicked from the team for failure to go to a game. Most towns, with a high profile player, that would have been all over the press....not a peep. So please don't spout his record of keeping kids off the scanner. Some of us know better. There have been kids arrested for assault, theft, etc. and no one was the wiser. They kept their scholarships, starting positions, etc. It all depends on who you are as to IF you get away with that.

Please. The Tribune has always reported when players and the program in general is in trouble w/ the law. Go back for your self and look at the years when Dalton was the head coach. A player was on the front page every day in trouble. Why would they all of the sudden stop reporting? You sound like someone who was jaded by the coaching staff. Either that or you have a family member that was on the team or a friend. We were also told Collins was racist because no position player could be white. That's simply not true because look at Reik and before him Wolpen. Both white running backs.

I don't have an interest in the team... not a player or family member. Just stating the obvious. Why is it when I asked the question last week about racism on this team, several people posted as to it being not only prevalent, but blatant. Again, if you don't believe me, ask players- current and former. I didn't state you can't play if you are white. I said if you make a mistake and you are white, you are most likely not getting an opportunity again. Racism is racism- in any form. He has shown it for years. How many people have watched him scream at white kids who made mistakes on the field while encouraging the black kids who did the same thing? This is not an issue with the kids; it is a racist coach, pure and simple.

Just because I am not jaded by this coaching staff as far as not being a former player or family member does not mean I have no "interest". I financially support this university and have every right to be here as do you. Seems as though you may not like facing the cold hard reality of a coach who gives preferential treatment which should be inexcusable. If the reverse were happening, i.e. a white coach showing this type of behavior, all hell would break loose. So, no, I will not go away. I will continue to make my observations noted until someone does something about it. Racism is racism and should never be tolerated. I ask you, are you willing to tolerate it? Is racism, in any format, ok? If not, what are you willing to do to stop it? Racism does not always present itself as the KKK walking down Main St. shouting epithets. However, it is just as destructive, regardless of its method.

UC Davis played a decent game in losing to Montana but I still would not place any bets on them. We will be 0-11 or 1-10. You will probably get the choice between those.

Did you witness Collins spew racial comments yourself? Is this second hand knowledge? Third hand knowledge?

Beardown, I challenge you this. Find any white player who has played under Collins. Ask that question and see what you get. That is all I am going to say here...

As far as arrests go, if it doesn't get out it doesn't get out. Police records are obviously public, you can go see who got arrested last night for DUIs etc. But if that doesn't get reported then it will go unknown. As for a bigger D1 school, there are too many eyes and mouths that if someone gets arrested, it is reported in seconds.

But, to be clear, I have witnessed this behavior. I don't rely on the game of telephone to form my opinions.

So his actions display racist attitudes? Isn't Jace Davis black? Quinten Hildreth? Those two were suspended for multiple games. Aren't they African American?

I don't think that Coach Collins is a racist. But I do think he gives preferential treatment to the blacks. Several of the white players have said it as well. Here's a fact, my admin connection who is a member of the board that reviews all scholarships complaints from students, told me that in the 4 years he/she has been on this review board, ALL of the players who were challenging Coach Collins decision to either remove or reduce their scholarship, were white. Never a black player.

The black versus white card is easily played. We had one former player on here a few years ago say that one of the coaches on here told him that he would not see the field because he is white and ALL skill position players were going to be black under this coaching staff. That's simply not true, just look at the roster. So, I'll remain skeptical at the least when accusations are thrown around.

We haven't had a black QB since Downing was here, maybe Collins needs to be more "racist" about the QB position because these white QBs suck. And I'm white by the way and I just want the best player out there I could care less if he's purple.

Not to mention the fact that our leading passer is white, our leading rusher is white, our leading receiver is white and three of our top four leading tacklers are white. But yeah, Collins hates white guys and never lets them play.

You guys are kill me, especially Beardown. The things you say on here with no info to back your statements, its awesome. Anyways, Believe what you want, some of us have seen it first hand as players, some of you who have never met the man would believe differently. Perception is reality my friends. Regardless if he is racist or not, his performance as a coach needs to go.

Giving preferential treatment to a player because of the color of their skin is racism. Thank you for pointing this out.
