here is a trivia question for bobandwaldo or for anyone who knows the answer. I don't know it and i'm hoping someone does. I'm gonna use the info for a blog i wanna write for weberhoops.com.

When was the last time a team knew they were going to host the tournament this early in the season?

From what I remember it seems a team doesn't usually know until the second-to-last week if not the last week of Big Sky play.

Oh no...this thread is back??? Swear word...

Uh lets see...how about 2003, they went 14-0! I think they knew they were hosting before the season started! lol

Eastern was 2nd with 5 losses.

yeah, i knew that. but i'm wondering if ANY team clniced the Big SKy early since then. I'm thinking maybe NAU in 2006 (they only lost 2 conf games) but i'm not sure if anyone was close enough that it came down to the last week or two to name a champion.

I love how you are all cocky about this especially when you have not been able to answer any of mine or SMJ's questions. If i remember correctly, you have also missed some of Tal's questions. You better brush up on your history from before 2000. :D

good point. but ya gotta give Bobandwaldo some props. Think how impressed his kids will be (if he ever had any) when 20 years from now he can spout from memory any fact about wsu's 2003 and 1999 teams. That will be pretty cool. It's just too bad for him he wasn't born 30 years earlier, cause then he would probably know everything.

Here is a new question:

Lewis Lofton.
When did he play?
What if any big sky awards did he win?
and finally, What oversees teams did he play for?

Lewis Lofton, a current local of the area. WSU class of 1996.

Lofton played for the Wildcats in the mid 90's. He played on the 1995 team, a memorable year in WSU history...

Lofton was part of 2 Big Sky titles, 1994, 1995, our last back-to-back. He was on the all-tournament team along with MVP Ruben Nembhard.

He has the 5th longest triple jump in WSU history with a mark of 49 feet 11 and a 1/4 inches.

He played overseas in South America, South Korea, and Poland

Also, Willie Sojourner is #6 all-time WSU for the high jump at 7' 1/2".

actually I did mean Layton, one of my co-workers played against him 2 weeks ago in Layton church ball.
btw, Lewis dominated that game as well.

How dare anyone question Bobandwaldo's expertise...

Bobandwaldo=WSU historian...most knowledgable person on earth regarding WSU basketball.

when was the last time wsu scored 100? when was the last time anyone in the Bigsky did?

WSU:
November 19 2001: Concordia OR W 103-77

Big Sky:
Not this season...without looking we know EWU did it plenty when they had Stuckey who left after the 2006-07 season. They were one of the highest scoring teams in the nation in '07.

Necks....

oh yeah, i totally didn't think of the Stucky days. when it is all said and done do you think he will have been the best player to ever come out of the big sky?

Yes or No?

We've had a lot of good players. Though, Stuckey is one of just 2 players in Big Sky history to be 1st round picks.

I think Willie Sojourner could take Stuckey to school. I'd say if Stuckey would have played 4 years he would have gone down as one the best in conference history.

Willie played just 3 years and he is all over the top of the Big Sky in the record books. Stuckey just wasn't around long enough. The only record book stat I think Stuckey has is points average for a season, he ranks up there and being MVP for 1 season.

Well...I'm the Weber historian not Northern Colorado expert. UNC also scored 59 points against Texas State this year.

BobandWaldo is all-knowing!

He is 100% correct half of the time.

As Bob once told me...when you get to a fork in the road, take it!

See Bob is very old and he is the brother of Yogi Berra. The only thing I don't like about old Bob is he's always complaining in the concessions line at the Dee. Classic Bob, "a nickel aint worth a dime anymore".
