CAUSEWAY WEEK: (RV) Sac State (7-4, 5-2 BSC) @ #15 UC Davis (7-3, 5-2 BSC)

BIG10?!? lol
They play UCLA in 2027 and 2029

Nobody is begging, it’s just makes sense that a 70+ year rivalry would stand. Only a P like Coach P would back out of it, none of other past great coaches there would do that. The last 6 games, we’re 3-3, it’s still a rivalry.
Asking UCD to back out of an actual commitment (to Stetson) so it can continue a game that the university didn't think twice about before it impulsively left the Big Sky. Sac State clearly didn't care about Causeway when it made this decision, and all the hot air about how UCD now refuses to continue the rivalry comes across as hypocritical and desperate. Why not just admit that Sac needs more games in 2026 and UCD doesn't?

All these Davis fans jumping on the board AFTER the game shows they were too chicken shit to come on here before the game. They weren’t confident in their team.
Nah, honestly just trying to have a rational conversation about the future of the Causeway Classic.
I've laid out the reasons why a yearly FCS vs. FBS rivalry game isn't smart for the FCS side.

I'd love to see the teams play each other every few years, it just doesn't make sense for Davis to it every year.

Can you give an example of a current FCS vs. FBS yearly game? Rivalry, or not?
Someone on our board mentioned JMU vs. William & Mary:
"just look at James Madison. They had a long rivalry with William and Mary for 40+ years that died when JMU moved up."

It will be interesting to see what happens with:
"Battle of the Blue" Delaware vs. Villanova. UD moved up this year. No game next year...
"Battle of the Piney Woods" Sam Houston vs. SFA. Sam moved up in '23 and they haven't played since (no future games scheduled yet)
William & Mary vs. JMU since 1978. Haven't played since '21 when JMU moved up.

Claiming the Causeway can't continue at this point in time is a bitch-made stance. There will be legitimate issues when there is an FBS-FCS scenario in play but until that is formal it's just not a thing. The rivalry endured when both programs weren't in the same division let alone in the same conference so them hiding behind our BSC departure and a game against Stetson is a bitch-made argument in and of itself. That said, they want to discontinue the rivalry then that's their prerogative. I think that sentiment should be reciprocated across all sports if that's how they truly view it.
