CBI: WSU @ Oregon

So how will we find out why this happened or will we ever? Im so pissed. i wonder what coach rahe is now thinking after being told home game and now having to travel all the way to oregon.. AHH

Weber just got bent over!! I definitely want an explanation from the AD on this one. Weber should have reneged on the agreement, it's not like the CBI was being honest. They broke the original agreement when they took the home game away. Also, Weber averaged more fans and has a nicer stadium than um. I have a feeling this profligacy has something to do with Montana. Regardless, this is total BS. WTF!!

I just checked my email and it has all the info for the tourney and they were definatly set on having a game. Ticket prices and everything. BS!!! I hope we dont just roll over on this. We got screwed. If oregon doesnt want to play at a smaller school then dont agree to be in the tournment! DUH! We better get a sh*t ton of money or somethin outta this this is ridic

I think out of the 2, Montana did deserve a home game more than us, for the facts that they have a better record than we do, and they finished 2nd, we finished 3rd

However, I DO NOT think Oregon, a team with A LOSING RECORD deserved to get a home game over us.

I demand an explanation

and i like how our website says NOTHING about what has happened. The only thing that we know is that we play oregon. unless i misread our article we just copied and pasted a bunch of stuff about zebra pen and hdnet. Nothing about why we are not having a game or i dont even think i saw a day or time.. but i might have missed that. i guess either way im still pissed

Roy Burton from Standard Net article said there were more "high-major" teams that wanted to be in CBI and so the home game was taken away.

http://www.standard.net/topics/sports/2011/03/13/change-plans-wildcats-hitting-road-again

Was all primed for a game at the Dee; and getting to Eugene is about as easy as getting to Missoula....not so much. And what "brains" put Montana in the same "region" as Weber when they made the bracket.

In the end I'm sure the Oregon $$$$ spoke louder than ours. From what I read the entry and hosting fees got in part to pay the travel expenses of the visiting team, so may be less exposure for the Athletic dept.

Last, it lets Trevor and Lindsey play on and we get to go kick the behind of a Pac-10 team on their floor.

Now where can I find someone that has HDNet so I can watch ??? Local Sports Bar?

Oh well... So Weber doesn't get a home game. I'm sure that the Athletic Department, the team, and the AD are all as mad about this as we are, but, hopefully Weber will come out of this with two things...A: A Win over the Ducks and B: A SHIZ load of cash. HDNET??? Okay, so Catcat wrote on Weberhoops that it is accessible if you have comcast...What channel??

Or is it the whole "We cant have a Pac10 team play at a Big Sky school" bs ?

Didn't Oregon play at UM this year?

Oregon State.

UM went 2-0 against the Pac 10 this year (I think?) beating Oregon State in Missoula and UCLA at Pauley. They may have played more, I could be wrong.

As far as Oregon vs. the Big Sky this year - the Ducks beat Portland State 68-49 back in December.

This was not the explanation I wanted to hear.

Randy Rahe quote Standard Examiner

"What they told us when all the brackets came down and all the NIT bids came out, there were a lot more HIGH MAJOR teams that wanted to be in the tournament and the CBI felt OBLIGATED to give them home games and we got bumped"

That is the biggest BS reason I have ever heard, felt "OBLIGATED" to give a losing record Oregon a home game over a Winning record Weber State team just because Oregon is a "High Major" team.

This is BS, if the CBI ever comes calling to Weber again I hope Weber gives em the finger.

Amen to that!
If they want to be in a tourney, then they play where they are told to play and against who they are selected. This is still this bull sh*t about how some schools are better than others so when they come calling everyone has to bow down to them. and teams like us get a$$ raped in the process. Obligation my a$$

absolutely asine!! Isn't Oregon the only High-Major involved?

Duquesne the team Montana is playing at home to is in the Atlantic 10 conference, which is considered a Major Conference. St. Bonaventure is also in the A-10, and UCF is in the C-USA which i think is also a Major conf

The Big Sky is not stronger than the WAC. That is just a fact we have to live with for now. I expect that will be a different story in a year or two. Meanwhile, does anyone know who would host if both Weber and UM win?

According to Egrizzers, Weber would host due to Dahlberg Arena being unavailable, though Im not sure

OK. Whats done is done.

If we ever end up in the CBI again, I would say that they ow us one. You never know what has gone on behind closed doors or what will go on in the future. I trust that Jerry and Randy are looking out for our best interest. At least in the long run. :coffee:
