We/this is an echo chamber. We love EWU but there just isn't enough of us. There are 37 posts on here from only 16 people. It just isn't a big deal. We are passionate but that is about it. The president is a nice lady and likely has more pressing priorities.

Make that 17 :thumb: The lady was chosen over Rex Fuller after receiving a vote of no confidence at Southern Oregon... Why? Just Why?! The root of the problem may have been the Board of Trustees that selected Cullinan. I DO NOT GET WHY THEY SELECTED HER OVER REX FULLER! We had some amazing progress under Dr. Aravalo and he was a major part of that progress.

Eastern administration has a long history of hiring outside individuals over internal, for whatever reason. Also, I'll or preface this with a it doesn't usually matter to me, but she's also a woman and Eastern prides themselves on diversity. I do believe she is the first woman president at EWU, correct me if I'm wrong.
We are the most diverse 4 year school in the state yet we just spent over $100,000. on a diversity officer. Money well spent.

But again this is a moot point. Cullinan doesn't want Bill here and she runs the school. End of story.

I do not want Cullian here. I am not happy with her leadership and want her to go. How do we make that happen, stat?

+1

Fuller would have been about a billion times better option. Bad hire.

Add the BoT in that mix, too.

Today's the day.

Not sure if anyone looked at the candidates for the UND job, one of them is a UND legend Michael Mannausau, former athlete and wife is a former athlete he is the Associate Athletics Director, Athletics Major Gifts, UND Alumni Association and Foundation. Has already proven he can raise a ton of money from what I have read.

I am sure a lot of people are looking at him as the front runner, but why go through the whole search committee instead of hiring within.

William Chaves, Director of Athletics, Eastern Washington University, Jan. 10-11
Kellie Elliott, Assistant Vice President/Deputy Athletic Director, University of Texas at San Antonio, Jan. 9-10
Michael Mannausau, Associate Athletics Director, Athletics Major Gifts, UND Alumni Association and Foundation, Jan. 8-9
M. Montgomery Porter III, Senior Associate Athletic Director, Western Michigan University, Jan. 7-8

The Athletics Director Finalist Open Forums will be held 4:30-5:30 p.m. on the following dates and at the following locations:

Sunday, Jan. 7, Gorecki Alumni Center Gransberg Room — Monty Porter
Monday, Jan. 8, Energy & Environmental Research Center Discovery Hall — Mike Mannausau
Tuesday, Jan. 9, Gorecki Alumni Center Gransberg Room — Kellie Elliott
Wednesday, Jan. 10, Gorecki Alumni Center Gransberg Room — Bill Chaves

Universities do that so they end up with the BEST candidate for the job. Just like in Cheney when they hired a new president. :ohno:

lets just hope they do a proper search for the new AD. Losing Chaves is a big loss but maybe some younger blood will bring new ideas into the fold. specifically on fundraising.

Do you know who was the brain child of and driving force behind the red turf?
