Coaching Carosel 2018

According to football scoop Beau remains as OC at Cal but is also given the QB coach title. I didn't realize he wasn't, but that could help Cal's Offense. The other interesting thing is that Nick Edwards was moved to RB's coach.

Beau's tenure in Cal has been an odd one. He was co-OC in his first season and the RBs coach, along with being the Asst. HC. Then this past year he was the OC and Asst. HC. Now he's becoming the QB coach, but losing the Asst. HC title.

I'm a little surprised he didn't go hard for Gubrud. They've worked well together in the past and he knows he'd get better play than he's been getting. Maybe Gubrud looked at that receiving group and wasn't interested. Also, it would be hard to say no to throwing 50 passes a game in Pullman.

The loss of Cherokee is not a good one. Hope our recruiting class stays in tact..... perhaps some backlash from the DC choices made. He is now a Troy Taylor guy.

Totally agree, Coach Cherokee definitely had his fingers on the pulse of recruiting. Tough loss for the program.

Wasn't really a TT one and done fan, but that dial has moved to the despise setting.

His last tweet to Eags... yes he already has changed his background to Sac St too..

Big loss on the recruiting front....guessing he wanted the DC position...Going to be a really interesting recruiting battle for Calif players now

Look at it this way... if you were a player and got offered by both Sac and EWU, where would you go? The truth is our meat and potatoes is still Washington. Getting a handful of quality guys from Cali is more like the gravy.

We've known this day was coming when we thought Beau had the Nevada job. This is why we brought in Maurice. Now is his time to step up and keep the train rolling.

SAC is going to be 3 to 5 years out from being competitive and getting Taylor's style of offense.

Tru dat. Don't think Taylor is magic but after seeing what Phenicle has done at ISU in a couple of seasons is intriguing. He put in a Eag type offense and turned it lose. Guessing Taylor will do something very similar and is a better place to acquire some talent in Cali. Time will tell.
