Eagles vs Ducks next year

The Duck offense would be a hot knife through butter with Vernon at QB. Of course, the Eagle offense already is.

Interesting choice of words in VA's quotes, never did he say he was not interested... If I am correct he would have to graduate June 12th and have 2 and a half months in Eugene before the season...Seems very unlikely. Hopefully Braxton Miller transfers soon so we don't have to listen to rumors for the next 5 months...

Saw another article about VA transferring to Oregon today. You guys scurrrrrd yet? Or you think there's no chance???

Anything is possible. As far as being scared? Nope, not really. VA is a special, one of a kind player, but we have a long lineage of great QB's at EWU. Part of that is because Baldwin is a QB guy - he takes guys with good natural ability and develops them to be the best players they can possibly be.

-Blankenship
-Meyer
-Nichols
-Mitchell
-Adams

Either way, it will be next man up whether that's this coming year or next. It would suck if it happened a year early, but it is what it is.

All that said, I doubt he transfers.

Well, VA has been knee deep in helping the EWU recruiting process spending time with all the big fish in the 2015 class. Seems to me he is completely absorbed in building the Eagles and being a leader with the team. He was one of several Eagle studs hosting the class. They had a full court press going on both recruiting weekends from what I've heard with Neary, Kupp. VA, etc.

I unfortunately could see this happening although I would think it would be a huge mistake as Oregon's wide receivers are suspect and EWU's sure handed WR's are making him what he is and going to be. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. I want him to stay, but would wish him the best if he moved on especially since he did his part in graduating.

Besides wouldn't you rather be the man at EWU or just another DUCK in the pond . . . .couldn't resist. :coffee:

That would be my thought as well. If he transferred and won the starting job the Pac 12 exposure would be very valuable IF he is surrounded by the caliber of players he is at Eastern. The real downside is if he transfers and does not win the starting job for whatever reason he is sitting on the bench his senior year. How much exposure would be be getting in that scenario?
So IMO there could be more downside than upside for Vernon.

To All,
All that about VA transferring to the Ducks, is MOOT. I spoke to some personnel that knows VA, it is something that was placed on line, by whom, I don't know. VA was surprised to see that also. VA is supposed to graduate very soon. If he wants to transfer, so be it, we have other Q/Backs in the wings waiting, and they will lead this team. We don't expect to have VA for life, just like all the other great QBs we have had, we survived. Again, VA will be here when FB practices start, should he decide to leave, WE WILL WISH HIM WELL :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: . Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

I spoke with another Player on Monday that was supposed to be here in the last Recruiting Class, name Monk Sarte, DL 296, was going on the Turf to work out, young man is very built. Spoke to Mitch Fettig and Josh Lewis, they knew him, and they said he is going to be a great addition to the team. Don't know if it was grades, or Clearing House. He is here now, and he was heading on the Turf to start his conditioning. Vic Wallace

To All,
Soon to be out, Feb 5th, At Northern Quest, 2015 Recruits. No time as yet, but should be out shortly. So put that date aside so you can come cheer with us about our incoming Recruits. Everyone one of our Players I spoke with feels this will be another "Outstanding Class" :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
I was incorrect when I stated the Recruits meeting at Northern Quest was on the 5th of Feb. It is normally the 1 Wednesday in Feb, so checking last night at FB Banquet, I was told it will be on Wednesday the 4th. Got this information from Judy Crab. Still no time or location. Waiting for information from other individuals. Vic Wallace

To All,
Another great Banquet last night. If you missed it, you missed a great event. Saw Jake Mom at the banquet, she accepted an award for her son. She seems as if tings are going fine so far. Along with Monk Sarte DL, another Player who should have been here, came in during the winter. He is Cody Bekkering LB. Saw some great films of last year FB Seasons, now can't wait for the season. Glad to have had an opportunity to meet some of our Players and their Parents. Vic Wallace

Will be on Wednesday,Feb 4th, 2015. At N. Quest in "The Pend Oreille Pavilion. Doors open at Noon Cost $25.00 EAF Members, $35.00 for Non EAF Members, collect at the door. This is the same area it was held last year. Closest to the Parking Garage. I let the Valet handle my parking and walk in to the right, as if you are heading to the North side to go to outside the parking garage, it is on your left. p.s. this is Virgin Islands direction      . See you there. Vic Wallace
