And moral victories will keep this coaching employed! Appaulses because the players played hard...really? Their football players with pride and egos that will always play hard, no one want to get embarrassed. What they need and deserve is someone who can strategize, prepare them and adjust during a game! You guys are getting soft in your expectations. The UNC bears need a coaching staff. Keep preaching about it and yelling for it until that happens. That's how you can help this program!!!

All I see is an honest assessment of the game. What more do you want? Actually, I see it as more damning against the coaching staff that the players continue to look the part of Big Sky football players and the coaching staff continues to look like a bunch of Pop Warner coaches. Crediting the players for their hard work on the field does not absolve the coaching staff from another crap performance.

Brian you're absolutely right applauding the players is the right thing to do but it has to always be noted what this coaching staff is doing to them, they deserve better!

To answer your question about what more do I want...I want collins fired! I want a new coaching staff for North Colorado!

I think it's hard to find one person on here that is happy with the coaching staff. The players have been playing hard and that should be commended, it can be hard playing teams at a high level when you are getting beat week in and out. It's a testament to the fact that there is talent on the roster and that there is some hope available.

Like I mentioned before I think the coaching staff is what's keeping this team from clearing that hurdle. There have been numerous coaching errors and head-scratching choices. That's what I was trying to point out. I'm not advocating for a "moral victory" and kicking the can down the road. It's not a black and white all is bad or all is good. The team has been playing hard, but the coaching is really letting them down and isn't matching what the players are putting on the field.

I could not agree more. For years now UNC has had high caliber football players that most definitely belong in the Big Sky Conference. This program has not been losing games because they can't keep up with talent on the other side of the field. But if the bears have the talent on the field, that only leaves one entity that is not living up to their end of the bargain. I'm not going to sit in my arm chair and say that the coaching staff isn't working hard, but if this is truly their best, then its time for a change.

I actually think Coach Kerr has been a quality addition to the defensive staff and the coaching on that side of the ball has improved quite a bit.

As for the offense, they averaged 2.2 yards per carry today and still persisted with running the ball 30 times. Meanwhile, you've got Rubalcaba out here completing 70% of his passes for both the game and the season. Turn the guy loose, let him throw it 40-50 times a game and see what happens, it'll probably be good. He's your best weapon on offense, use him.

Finally, special teams, I think 5 blocked punts in 7 games is all I need to say about that.

Kerr had definitely been a quality addition to the defensive staff. A very pleasant surprise because I really questioned this hire when it was first announced. I thought the game had passed him by based on his most recent resume, but he has proven me wrong. This year's defense is light years better than what we saw last season.

Also, since the question was brought up earlier in the thread, Collins is in charge of special teams. Does it surprise anybody that special teams struggle?
