EWU at Montana State

Looking at Montana's performance against Stephen F Austin, UCD, and Southern Utah, I like our chances. 8-)

I dont think Montana has played any of those teams for a few years, but whatever floats your boat.

I like MSU's chances looking at the matchup :thumb:

I always loved playing in Bozeman. I think who ever plays defense will have the upper hand here, could be a track meet though.

Have you seen NAU's remaining sched? This is a must win for the Eags AND the Cats.

For sure. It really seems like NAU and Cal Poly got over this season in the conference scheduling, while EWU, the Griz, and MSU got the short end of the stick by having to play each other. Plus we don't play ISU or UNC this season which are basically gimme games.

Anyway, we won't be favored in this game and I still have memories of what happened in Bozeman the last time we played there. But I think the team is having a lot of fun right now and I expect them to let it all hang out on Saturday. It will definitely take a team effort like the one we had against UND to win this game. I expect MSU to try to pressure Adams a lot in this one to force some Freshman mistakes. So his reads need to be spot on and we can't have any bloopers like we had in the Montana game. But the good thing is that if Vernon gets rattled early Kyle can always step in. Hopefully that won't happen as VA was absolutely lights out against UND.

For the Eags I really think this one comes down to LB play and our ability to keep McGhee contained on the edge. It's when he gets loose on the outside that he is really dangerous. Getting Johnson back might help a little in that regard in terms of depth.

All in all, this is a game the Eags can win but it will take a mistake free game to do it on the road. MSU is a very good team, but we have the talent and depth to beat them IMO.

Re-read what you wrote earlier. You accidentally put Montana instead of Montana State.

No, but if they called us "Washington" in context to a EWU vs MSU thread, I wouldn't be offended.

HOMER! You'd say that if they were playing the Green Bay Packers!
I saw the game against Stephen F Austin and the Cats are overrated!

Although the style of play is different, the mentality of the Bobcats is a lot like EWU's circa 2010. Thery don't win pretty, they let sub-par teams hang around, and the games are often much closer than they should be. But Montana State knows how to win... as did our 2010 team.

I expect to see their absolute best on Saturday.

This is going to be a huge game....

This game will help determine the BSC champion, and it will be even bigger in determing seeding for the playoffs. The winner on Saturday will be in the best shape for a top 3 seed come playoff time...

MSU is going to bring it, they are better then they have played this year, but so are we.....can't wait, should be a great game.

Thanks to ROOT, I've seen MSU play more this year and I find this a curious observation ... it may prove to be accurate but my take away so far has been that they have yet to be challenged and their talent so far has let them overcome weaker teams. I wonder what will happen when they get punched in the mouth? Are they the cats of old that roll over in the first round of the playoffs or do they have the fortitude to come back from 3 scores down with one and a half quarters left in the game like the 2010 Chipper? I don't think they've demonstrated that mental toughness yet. On the other hand, this year's version of the EAGs showed that in spades during the UM game!

I do agree that we'll see their best this Saturday and it should be another great game for ROOT!
