EWU @ Montana State

Their QB is good and very mobile. That said, he is a Freshman. I think it will be imperative for our d line to get some pressure on him and force him into some mistakes or get a few sacks. Our LB's need to have good contain because as I said he is very mobile and can make plays.

Limiting unforced errors will be critical in this game. We can't have interceptions or fumbles, and Montana State can't afford them either. The one edge I'd give us is that when we've needed plays againt Central and Montana, Mitchell has generally performed even though he's struggled a bit early in the year. When McGhee needed to make plays against WSU, he completely fell apart. I'd say that could translate to an advantage. We'll see...
Totally agree with you here, if the game is tight going into the fourth quarter I will admittedly be very nervous about our freshman signal callers ability to minimise the mistakes and execute plays. Go cat's!

If our two teams each had the others QB running around for their life all game, I would gladly take my chances with McGhee. He may run around and back 30 yards (freshman mistake) but I haven't seen him not have an awareness from where the pressure is coming from and when he has thrown picks, they were actually on target but got deflected. He does struggle holding onto the ball.

However, Mitchell doesn't always know where the pressure is coming from and got lambasted a few times. And he has a tendency to throw the ball high when he is under pressure. My hope is that we at least don't let him sit back there all day and dump of to Jones or throw the bomb without letting him feel some pressure.

Your D-Line is always very good, very physical. I reckon BLM will get pressured plenty - and you're right, he doesn't always have a good read on where it's coming from. That said, while this definitely isn't the best offensive line we've ever had at Eastern, they are solid. They held their own against Nevada and I think they'll do the same against MSU.

This game is really hard to read and really hard to give the advantage to either team. In the end, it will come down to turnovers and field position just like the Eastern-UM game did.

I'm in the same boat, but the ESPN score center app on my phone says 13-0 Montana State with 4:50 left in the 1st qtr. Looks like we're spotting them points to start out just like our other games.

MSU was about to score, we picked the ball, EWU ball on our own 10

Yup. Mitchell got picked for 6. That's 3 so far this season... This kid needs to stop hurting us all the God damn time.
