EWU @ Montana State

no doubt this game was knife fight, I think both sides were responsible, probably one of the most physical non Cat/griz games I have seen

Very classy... what else should we expect from a Hawaiian? Don't you have some haole tourists to sucker punch?

Listening to the podCat on Friday, former MSU player Ryan Elliot was saying that the EWU games he played in (2002-2005 I think?) were the dirtiest games they played all season, even worse than the Griz games. He said there was more hitting, stepping on guys when they were down, etc than any other game.

Note that he did not say which side started it, or which side was worse. He just said a lot of that kind of stuff went on. I took it as there is a lot of bad blood between the players on these two power BSC teams.

Anyways, good luck against Weber next week!

Not sure that games from 5-8 years ago are that pertinent given new players and a new coaching staff.

Most of the EWU fans that couldn't physically be at the game can't really comment much about the game, the physical nature, the play (other than what has been reported in the papers and via blogs) since the Big Sky TV broadcast encountered "technical difficulties" that left us without video through the first half and no audio at all. We also didn't get Larry Weir throught the podcast and the Bobcat radio commentors were so busy making inane comments that they couldn't be bothered with identifying who was making tackles, formations, injuries etc. unless it impacted the Bobcats (and then it was nonstop nonsense).

That said, it's interesting to note (and I'm not the one responsible for this observation -- it comes from a Griz fan, no less) that MSU has been responsible in the past two weeks for putting two running backs who were doing damage to them out of the game late in the first half. Didn't see either play, don't know the circumstances but would love to hear from someone without a MSU bias who does have some knowledge about it.

Anyways, good luck against Sac State next week!

The Drake QB was put out of the game with a concussion by a late hit. From all reports Taiwon's injury was pretty much self-inflicted on an attempted block. There are no other injuries to opposing players that I know of. So basically your Griz buddy is full of $$$$.

Why aren't you guys criticizing the EWU Olineman that hit Ogden from behind and below the knees, that type of play could have ended his career.

Good luck next week

The cats played a solid game and are very phyical on defense. We need to make a change at QB and with better QB play the game might have went a little different for EWU. Congratualtions Cats on the win and best of luck the rest of the season. Go Eagles!!!

attackcat, I think I answered that in the first part of my post - we couldn't see the telecast cause of "technical difficulties" so I can't comment and didn't comment on Ogden or his injury (and to tell the turth I don't remember the MSU radio guys talking about it either and they complained about everything from ball spots to what was for lunch so I guess it wasn't as blatent as you seem to think). What I asked for was an comment about the game and why so many critical injuries to key players seem to happen to your oppenents at critical times. HAHAHA so much for that ...

That said, no need to get your back all arched up, we think you won the game fair and square and we know EAGs have some work to do so that they are not so one dimensionally dependent on Jones. We have to stop giving up 13-14 points on turnovers and special teams play and when we get in the red zone we have to score.

Good Luck the rest of the season - keep playing the way you did this weekend and you'll be BSC Champs.
