How do you know there was any other option than Fordham??? Is an open date better? How do you know there was another option other than the South Dakota deal??? When you KNOW, I'll listen. The NCAA football schedules around the country do not revolve around EWU. If I were a player I'd much rather go to ground zero than Mead!!

So, how does a team like Fordham get Eastern Washington into their house for a one off? How does South Dakota get Eastern into their house for a one off? What are they doing that we aren't?

I have no problem with these games, but why not get a return date? It's not like either of those programs outdraw us or are higher profile than us. Our stadium certainly sucks, but 10,000 average attendance for regular season homes games is still better than a lot of FCS teams. Of course, that number could be better if we put some $$$ into the stadium, but that's a whole different conversation.
You're kind of changing your tune here but I'll deal with your last post. I do not know this for a fact just as you don't know either, what if Fordham said they would not come to Cheney under any circumstances and that was the only team that had an open date when we did? So the options are go to New York for a one off or have an open date, what would you prefer?
To clarify another point you said "10,000 average attendance for regular season homes games is still better than a lot of FCS teams", to be clear I said "that we have the lowest attendance of regular top ten teams in all of FCS".
Notice the difference?

Not to mention that with comps and student tickets I'd be surprised if our gate covers the costs of home games.

Do you believe Chaves knew they were going to lose 56-10 when he agreed to the TT game?

If he scheduled it 8-10 years ago he had to have thought we'd lose because they were a Top 10 BCS team then. If he scheduled it 3-4 years ago he had to have a feeling we could compete and win.

Honestly, as I've said I like playing tougher competition but for BCS/P5 opponents I'd rather he schedule Washington State/Oregon State/Kansas type of opponents where in most years we have a chance to win. TT is a program that in most years we aren't going to beat; we caught them during a downturn so the potential was there but programs like that aren't going to stay down for that long. We very well may have caught them at the beginning of their renaissance.
