Hi all, Georgetown fan here. I just wanted to say congrats on a great season. Best of luck next year.
Thanks. It was a magical season. Something for our guys to build on. Hoyas were just too dang big and fast and physical and and. :-) good luck to GTown in the tourney. Like coach said....our guys are fearless. So proud.

Great season, fellas! Proud of all that you've accomplished! High hopes for next year, and hope you all feel 100% when the NCAA's start next year.

Thanks for a bunch of heart-stoppers this year! #Eagle4Life

Great season and really enjoyed hanging with all the alumni today. Great run at the end looking forward to a another good basketball season.

Proud of the fight they had throughout. If the treys had dropped at our normal rate, we would've been in it right there at the end. Congrats G-town.

Let's continue this momentum into next season. Go Eags!

Congratulation to the entire team on a great season, just ended a little too soon. Is Tyler hurt? I'm wondering why our best defender spent almost the entire second half on the bench?
We were getting killed at rebounding and OG sat most of the second half on the bench, wonder what that was about?
edit- I meant to say Parker.

Tyler Harvey played all game. Credit to him for manufacturing 24 points despite a rough shooting night.

OG was really struggling all game long, it just wasn't his night. I assume you're talking about Parker Kelly also, and he had an even worse night. He was getting owned by #4 from Georgetown, who was raining threes over his head. He had a terrible night... We finally got some stability by bringing Sir Washington in. Both he and Garrett Moon did a great job from the bench and sort of got us stabilized when we were getting run off the floor.

BTW, what up with that last dunk by Georgetown? Classy!

HA! After five days was just now approved to post on the Hoya main message board. This team was pretty special and even down so much in second half I still had faith something could happen. That in itself is a tribute to this team and exciting to think what the future holds.

A lot of things could have went different tonight. To me it was their 3 point shooting that killed us because they made twice as many as they average and at a much higher percentage.

I was not at all impressed with the class of Georgetown either.

SirGarethThe3rd,
I agree with you, Georgetown, was very strong, we got defeated by a better Team. They looked like Giants going for the rebounds, nothing negative, they gobbled up most of the rebounds. 23 points to come back from is very tiring and it showed closing the game. I was happy to see the run they made coming back, but to many fouls that really helped the Hoyas, and they wasn't missing many. Congratulations to Georgetown for their victory against us, good luck against Utah, and beyond should you defeat Utah. We had an Outstanding Run 26-9, best record in EWU History, now lets get ready for next year. Vic Wallace

You are correct I meant to say Parker.
Yes # 4 Smith Rivera killed us... in the second half. As I recall he had 7 or 8 at half and ended the game with 25.

For the season Gtown shot 35%, last night 48%. They shoot to their average and they hit 8 threes instead of 11.

Conversely EWU shot 32% from 3 below their average of 40%. They attempted 28 3's. If they shoot their average they hit two more 3's.

That's a 15 point difference and that's the ball game.

Hayford had the right strategy to force Gtown to win from the 3 pt line and unfortunately they played on a night when Gtown shot it well.

Gtown defended the three well and shot it well. Bad combination for EWU.

Great season, ton of talent coming back next year.

Hey Everyone,

You have a good team. Sorry to be the ones to burst the bubble.

I understand what your coach did and why, but I don't like it....much like you don't like how Trawick dunked at the end of the game.

I would probably recommend to your coach Lou Holtz's "Aw Shucks, they are so good we don't have a chance" approach in the future as opposed to firing up the entire Georgetown community. We haven't had a thread that long on Hoyatalk (85 pages) in a long time.

Anyway, I was impressed with several of your players and wish you best of luck next year.

It seems the Hoya fans are quite proud of Jabril Trawick’s behavior. I still question why he did not get called for any type of foul when during his weird celebration, he pushed and punched Tyler Harvey’s chest. Regardless of what his real intentions were, that should never happen in a game. How would those Hoya fans that filled 85 pages in their forum respond if an EAGS player behaved like that? They would still be freaking out. The NCAA has already admitted the officials made a mistake.

As far as Trawick’s classless dunk at the end of the game, from the sound of the many boos it wasn’t just EAGS fans who thought it was bogus. I guess Big East teams celebrate differently than other conferences.

That call was promptly followed by the mystery call on Drew Brandon. I have no idea what the commentators said about it, but they showed the replay in the arena and it looked like Brandon didn't even touch their guy. The refs had a bad night. It wasn't enough to cost us the game-- our shooting cost us the game-- but you'd expect to get a little better officiating in the tourney.

I don't know what Trawick was doing with Harvey on that play. It was pretty stupid.

I don't think it was a punch. He was lucky to not have a technical foul called.

From where i sit, Harvey did collapse like a cheap tent with a bit of a dive.

For Hoya fans, I think the final dunk was a bit cathartic after surviving the defense that EWU applied for the final minutes. We didn't handle it very well. Regarding the boos....I am not sure we care. As the favorite playing in enemy territory, we were never going to win the hearts and minds of the crowd. After your coach's comments, we desperately wanted to f****** blow you off the court. A 10 point win is disappointing in a way after being up by over 20.

And Jabril is a villain. i tried to preview this in my prior posts. He is a bad man. He talks trash and is a lightning rod. He is also a bit of the soul of the team. I figured he would be the primary match-up with Harvey. His style is not my cup of tea, but he is a Hoya and the fans support him. I believe he is one of those players you love if he is on your team and hate if he is not.

Any chance Harvey wants to transfer like Adams? .....I kid I kid.

For GTown fans that question Harvey going down. Look at the video above and you can clearly see he rolled his ankle after the bump knocked him off the balance...an ankle he's been nursing and that kept him out several games.

Harvey (being a class act and not a bitch who is going to complain about calls in post game comments) said the floor was slippery and it was no big deal. Clearly that wasn't the case and as fans we're free to say so. Harvey turned his ankle and traveled (probably because he was fouled by Hopkins). He hadn't had a chance to walk off any effects of rolling his ankle and is clearly not balanced when Trawick made contact. While you see a "bit of a dive," we see a clear foul. Apparently the NCAA's National Coordinator of men's basketball officiating agreed with us in an interview with Seth Davis today. He stated that it was a dead ball technical foul and to add insult to injury, EWU was charged with the TO because they asked for the review that was wrongly denied.

As for the the unnecessary dunk at the end, I don't blame the player (although a suavely one would have known the circumstances and elected to dribble out the clock). I do, however, lay some with your coach, JT III. The play was happening right in front of him and he made no effort to call it off. Clearly based on his post game comments, he had little respect for our coach, our program, and likely our players. Given the huge disparity in resources, he should have more but I suspect that he was quite pleased with his player and the dunk.

Finally, I'm not sure what the hell a coach is supposed to say when they are asked about how they expect a big game to play out... It's a no win situation, right? I want the coach of the team I root for to say they're going to win and if they're a huge underdog I want him to be emphatic. If the opposition is so thin skinned that they need it for motivation, so be it. I certainly don't want him to say shucks we don't stand a chance and we're just happy to be here. It worked for Lou Holtz because he always did it and everyone knew he didn't believe it or mean it. Given how poorly your coach has prepared his team for the tournament in recent years, maybe it did help motivate your team in a way that The Third clearly can't but if Coach H is asked in the future whether his team is going to win, I hope his answer is always, YES, I guarantee it!
