It seems many Eag fans got sucked into the scare tactics of the Bear fans. As I said early in the week if we can't bury these guys by three TD's we have no chance against the Bison.
So your saying we have a chance ... :thumb:
I feel we have a lot more after that type of performance!

I think we have the horses to beat them. We match up well in most positions. I think the strength of the bison is that they are very sound across the board- they execute well and don't make many mistakes. If we do the same, I think we can "out-athlete" them in some crucial spots.

Don't buy into all the seemingly immortal mythology about ndsu. They are a great team but they aren't gods like some of the media and the "experts" on social media make them seem.

None of the superstitious types on the board want to hear that... Eminently beatable. That's a fact. Will break it down later. :)

BTW, it took less than a day for some Bi-zon to post about the 2009 post season loss to EWU.. It's like Maine on steroids

Maine fans didn’t bother me, it was the history of losing to lesser teams in the semis. Gotta say, this Best team might have the most “fight” of any Eastern team of the past. Maine may not have been an elite team, but not too many teams could beat them by 31 points.

I haven’t flown into DFW in a while. Looks like flying anyone besides American into Dallas is a bit like flying anyone other than Delta into Atlanta or United into Chicago. It’s pretty much one airline dominating the whole airport.

Funny thing is I’ve noticed Alaska is the one airline that challenges that thinking. They’ll fly into other airlines’ hubs and often be comparable on price. I think they had a rethink of partnering strategy when they had their big pissing match with Delta a few years back.

Lesser? All three of those teams were better than Maine. Eastern was in a position to win those games and fell short by not being a complete team. Not saying the athletes weren't as good or better. HC Best, whom you liked for the position far more than I did, has shown OL toughness for sure. Maybe his new tagline should be "Take Your Best Shot". :D

Eastern was quite a bit better than Youngstown State both times in the semis. Eastern was much better than Towson. The only time I think Eastern got beat by a legitimately better team was in the loss to Sam Houston State.

I don’t think Maine was any worse than any of those teams except probably Sam Houston State. They didn’t play well yesterday and caught the Eagles playing great. I think Eastern probably beats Maine 80% of the time, but it would have been tough to look better against them than yesterday. That was one helluva performance.

I’m very respectful of any team that plays their best football in such an important game. Eastern did it in 2010, and that’s why there’s a national championship trophy in the cabinet,

You're evaluation of talent is usually heavily influenced by things that don't have anything to do with talent, but that's what makes it interesting sometimes. Would say no one cares about why we lost a semi two or twenty years ago, but you still do, so that isn't accurate. Maine couldn't have beaten any of those teams on their home fields, not going to relent and give them any credit for things they haven't earned.

Eastern showed up yesterday and think you're spot on that Coach Best is a main driver of that success. Love the way our players stepped up despite all the adversity injuries created, glad they get some time to heal and dial in on NDSU and hope they can appreciate what they've accomplished together. These moments are rare.

Hope you can enjoy it Dopa.

waiting for the bizon hoard of posters to inundate the board. Same ones who claimed Maine would beat us and they are playing for payback and so much better than EWU and it will be a home game in Frisco and our stadium sucks. Same ole shit. 3...2...1...

After that type of performance they might be a little nervous. Was just talking to my Uncle who is a BIZON....he is a little more then nervous about the game after yesterday. He said all their running backs are dinged up and their best one didn't even play in their semi game either.

Went out to AGS to see what I'm supposed to think. Never really did that before and haven't missed anything I couldn't get in a youtube of popular sports platitudes or blooper reels... Early days on this game. Watched a lot of the Colgate and half the SDSU playoff games for NDSU but didn't do it with a critical eye, so will probably re-watch some of whats available on ESPN3 replays.

Congratulations to Mitchell Johnson named as first team Hero Sports Freshman All American and Andrew Boston as Honorable Mention.. Let's turn them loose against NDSU

Alright, there is finally some good stuff that makes sense out there, kalm wrote a book not sure why he hasn't posted here. Guess he needs more sincere approbation. We sincerely approbate you kalm.

These are just the nuggets out of much longer posts that I happen to agree with:
kalm excerpt: This is not the same EWU team you're used to seeing. The receiving corps is probably the weakest of the skill positions.

dudesaidit excerpt: this is the most complete team I've seen from EWU in a while. I don't care if NDSU makes Eastern 1 dimensional. Because that dimension is extremely capable.

Probably the most likely factor that will determine this game all other things being equal. Someone should create a haiku.
Bison Fan in NW MN said: Line of scrimmage: If EWU cannot get off the field on defense....they lose. If the Bison cannot get pressure and contain Barriere , they are in trouble and will probably lose.

Eastern D has avg'd 9+ stops a game and offense has HUGE big play ability and short drives but I certainly understand this Bison fans take on their primary strategy, not sure this is a winning combination with this years Eagles
Bison Fan in NW MN excerpt 2: For the Bison it will come down to, as it always does, controlling the clock with their run game/play action pass and keeping the other team's offense off the field.

Consider the source, definitely correct that the Eags uni's will be better looking than the Bison uni's.
srgrizizen wrote: You can use any combination you want, but IMO EWU wins the uniform contest hands down. Too bad for them. that's probably all they win.

NDSU favored by two td’s seems pretty realistic. It will take a monumental effort to beat them but I think the Eags can do it.

Thats a fair spread, cant remember what it was in 2010, outcome??? yep the "W". If EWU can play mistke free ball and contain their QB, will be a fun game. Odds mean nothing to they layman, on any given day, ask Davis !!! GO EAGS
