FCS National Championship vs. NDSU: Game Day Thread

52-28 eags. Too many options on the ground and threw the air to slow down this senior laden team. Defense with the return of Tiuli should be in for the fight that'll take place in the trenches. Expect Ojoh to have a big impact as well. I believe this might be the start of the Best Dynasty!

Good morning EWU. I'm super stoked about this game, wish I could see it in person. A good friend of mine is an EWU alum with a friendly wager placed on this game pertaining to the 2019 ND early goose season. I must say after seeing the score against Maine, I'm a little nervous.

NDSU is solid, so is EWU. Extremely excited to see the outcome of this game. Won't be able to watch it as I will be officiating a basketball game that day.

I will be honest, I haven't followed much of EWU this season. Can you guys provide a little detail pertaining to your strength/weakness?

I think we have the horses to beat them. We match up well in most positions. I think the strength of the bison is that they are very sound across the board- they execute well and don't make many mistakes. If we do the same, I think we can "out-athlete" them in some crucial spots.

Don't buy into all the seemingly immortal mythology about ndsu. They are a great team but they aren't gods like some of the media and the "experts" on social media make them seem.

Apparently this very mild post about where I say that my team (that is in the national championship) is good and that the other guys are good too was just too outlandish for the bizzen fanz. Someone posted a screen grab it on bizzenville and the locals seem pretty worked up about it. After winning 1858389 games in the past 8 years or so, you'd think these guys wouldn't be so insecure. This fanbase may be more thin-skinned and praise-hungry than our lil' bros over in the Treasure State.

What other team in the FCS could go through the playoffs and make the Natty missing 8 starters from the beginning of the season?

Two key starters on offense at QB and left tackle (not to mention injuries to Custer and now Pierce at RB and WR Zach Eagle) and six defensive players Calhoun, Tiuli, Williams, Fettig, Prunty and Karstetter.

Despite the losses of so many leaders on the field the way the second team players have stepped up is simply a testament to the talent level, coaching and continued leadership of those injured off the field. A true team effort.

I don't care what Vegas thinks in this one or what players are able to take the field. Eastern is a supremely dangerous team that has overcome incredible adversity to be in this position. Even with three weeks to rest, prepare and focus without classes; this team has a fire in it's belly. Who here doubts that the Eagles will be ready and willing to accept this last challenge?

Leave No Doubt, Eastern will leave it all on the field.

Just curious who do you guys think would be the best spy on the defense to match up against E. Stick?

Was thinking about this too. I like Kedrick Johnson, keeping Criner/Prunty (if available) over the top. Not too worried about NDSU WR's beating the DB's deep as long as they aren't biting on play action but think a safety high couldn't hurt.

Kedrick is 6'3" and 205+ with plenty of speed. As able as Stick is, he doesn't always run depending on what the defense offers him and leads FCS in pass efficiency. One thing that's impressed me about the Eags defense this season is the physicality at the point of impact. We have all gone "ouch" on some of those hard tackles. Definitely need to make sure NDSU stays tackled, too many teams missed tackles and got behind early.

Hmm, not sure how many healthy guys we have left that would fit that role?

Just needed to hear it again. Had looked it up but couldn't fathom why this was in use. Now seeing you tell me again, realize this is more political BS from the world's leader in BS and gambling, ESPN.

Know what else comes from Columbia? Scopolamine. Won't be making that trip anytime soon.
