look amazing, will give us problems i think. That being said VA is a MUCH bigger threat than either of those NAU quarterbacks. I think we will score, but our defense may have problems with that run.

NAU's QBs looked awful. I don't know why they benched the starter only to play a guy who couldn't play a lick.

But yeah, I agree that SDSU is physical enough to pose problems. I suspect we won't have the luck NAU did with SDSU turning it over in such bad situations... they'll likely play us a lot tougher.

It'll be key for us to hit the ground running on offense and be PREPARED for what they bring on defense. I'll be very disappointed if we come out looking confused by what they run offensively, because their system is about as simple as it gets. They just bang away and bang away.... it's brilliant in it's simplicity... but it sure as hell shouldn't be the type of offense that is difficult to stop early.

SDSU's rushing attack will give us problems and I expect Zenner will get around 200 yards on our defense. That being said, we have played against a couple backs that are probably as good as he is in Adams from PSU and Kirk from MSU. I see something like a 28-21 ball game with the Eagles scoring late to seal the deal. Let's just hope that we don't come out flat like we did against Portland State, because these Rabbits are probably better than anyone we've played in the Big Sky with the exception of perhaps Montana.

Well, it's not like we don't know what they're going to try to do. The good thing about this game is that we knew we were going to be facing a really good back no matter who won the game today. The key to beating the Jackrabbits will obviously be to limit Zenner. Stack the box, force their QB to beat us through the air. I think if we keep Zenner below 150 yards rushing, we will win, because to be honest I don't see their one-dimensional offense keeping up with Adams and Company. Unless the SDSU defense is just a ton better than anyone we've seen this year (including Oregon State) I think we'll get our points. I will say that it's really difficult to determine how good the SDSU secondary is based on the NAU game, because neither of their QB's really tested them much. Having to contain Adams, Kupp, Hill, Clark, Mitchell, et. al plus our backs will be a much bigger challenge for them than just stopping Bauman was. Let's hang a couple TD's on them early and force them to play catch-up. We do that, I like our chances.

We are going to absolutely roll SDSU, it won't be close. We don't struggle with rushing attacks like theirs and our offense will have a field day throwing on them. Good win for SDSU today but enjoy it because it won't last long.

I really don't care for this type of cockiness...

I hope they come in with a similar game play as they did today, because we will stop that and we won't turn the ball over a bunch of times either. They look like a very tough, physical team but I don't think they have the horses to stay with us. The game will boil down to how well our O-line protects VA.

Been doing a little reading and it seems some of them think their game against us will be similar to the NAU game. I think they're in for a huge surprise.

Haha, no doubt SDSU is good, but 4 straight road games and facing an offense that they don't see in their conference....this shouldn't be close...

I only caught the second half of their game tonight when it seemed like it was getting really out of hand but So Dak St. looks like your typical Gateway-Missouri Valley team. Not a lot of flashy stuff just line up and smash it out you so ours boys better be ready to play some smashmouth football!

Zenner knotted the game at 7 with an 87-yard run, then had a 34-yard TD run in the third quarter to give SDSU the lead for good. Zenner, who had 235 of his yards through the first three quarters, had entered the game ranked second in FCS in rushing with 1,695 total and now has 1,944 for the season.

The Jackrabbits had 399 yards of total offense against the Lumberjacks, who finished with 301. EDIT:

Well I was going to update, and had about 6 or 7 articles to post, but my browser decided to refresh on it's own and everything I had meticulously typed in is now gone. If I have the patience tomorrow, I'll try again. :ohno:

I'd rather play NAU vs a squad that can run the ball like a herd of buffaloes and bank the clock. My money will be on EWU though...

How weird was it that NAU's head Coach wasn't in attendance? He had a "necessary" back surgery, that is all I could find. Liked NAU's aggression on defense early, got gashed when they backed off. Hard to watch the rest of the game with Auburn/Alabama, USC/UCLA, Stanford/ND and Mizzou/Texas A&M on. :-)

Coaches will have the team prepared and EWU is deeper on D line and tackles better. To stop this type of run attack, do we have the D line stack up the O Line, make the RB have to take it wide and let LB's and Safeties stop the RB or does EWU try to penetrate backfield and possibly create gaps for SDSU's RB up the middle? Didn't see anything different with SDSU from regular season.

Rested and healthy. IMO, they don't match up well with our offense, haven't seen so much speed all over the field or balance in the attack. Should we take an early lead, would like to see blitzes off the edge (corner and LB combo's) that will confuse and hurry the QB into mistakes and end this contest early. Cockiness is in order

Most of their fans seem pretty reasonable and well informed, but this one... not so much. Fitting name though... guy must be wasted.

Know thy opponent! Looks like all passing, pretty one dimentional.

Got a kick out of the TD pass where the guy knocks down the pylon flying through the air on the "out of bounds " side of it.Ref calls TD.Must be a rule, if the pylon goes down, must be a TD,even if it's knocked down from out of bounds I guess.I think they focus on the pylon, and ignore if the player is inbounds or out of bounds on the sideline. :D

 :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Regionalization hosed Rabbits/Eagles to be playing this early match-up. Eagles should really have the Fordham/SHU winner, and Rabbits/Lumberjacks should have been matched vs Montana or McNeese.

Truth. SDSU didn't get any favors last year, either, with having to play NDSU in their first game. It is what it is, I guess. :wall:
