Caught this on NW prep report. Looks like EWU got an early offer out to Camas QB Reilly Hennessey. Camas is down by my neck of the woods in SW WA and play in the GSHL, which has become a force in WA football in recent years. Reilly led the Papermakers to the state title game against Max Browne, but fell short against the USC kid and they finished 12-1 on the season. He looks to have good size at 6'3 185 and is also a good athlete as he excels on the diamond as well. Northwest Elite Index (absolutely fantastic NW receuiting site run by former UW QB ad coach Taylor Barton) is absolutely in love with this kid from what I've read. Yes, it's still early and offers could pick up for him, especially since Camas is the odds on favorite to take 4A state this year, but it's good to get confirmed early offers. We didn't sign a QB last cycle so it looks like Beau means business this time around. All in all it's pretty cool that we aren't left totally in the dark on EWU's early recruiting.

Lots of cool recruiting sites out there nowadays that report offers from D1 and FCS schools strictly for Northwest kids. It's good to see, especially early in the process. I saw that Reilly Hennessey, the QB was offered by EWU, but EWU also offered his teammate Drew Clarkson. He's a 6'4 260 guard who looks pretty athletic. In both these kids interviews on Northwest Elite Index they mentioned that Baldwin told them that EWU doesn't like to offer before the senior season of guys, so he must really see something in these guys. It's worth noting that Clarkson also has an early offer from Northern Colorado. But yeah, cool to see some reported offers early on, and if you're a fan of WA HS football, this Camas squad had a hyped junior class last season and may possibly be nationally ranked.

A number of times I've read a quote from a kid in which he says " they offered first". Maybe Baldwin is adjusting to that attitude by some players.
I have been to all BSC stadiums except No Col and ND. Isn't No Col next to a stinky feed lot or slaughter house or ??

Right on! I think it's cool to at least lost the confirmed offers out there because it seemed like towards signing day last year, a lot of us had almost no clue what names would show up committed. Thank god for a solid class though. I just saw that Drew Clarkson received an offer from the Cal Bears. Beau clearly wasn't the only jumping on the kid's bandwagon early.

It's very true that kids always have early offers on their mind. It's just tough with FCS schools sometimes. Most have rosters to fill and want guys on their board they think they have a legitimate shot at. So Beau usually waits until after the HS season to see where their targets stand in the recruiting process. The Griz get a lot of early commits because of their facilities, and all their in state recruits. Montana simply is a good offer for a kid who has been looking for one. Also, Montana is not afraid of young recruits. They offered one of the top frosh LB's in the country last year, Joel Dublanko from Aberdeen, WA. It's just a tougher road for teams like EWU because they don't want to waste recruiting time on kids they can't realistically get.

I saw on northwestprepreports that Reilly Hennessey, a 6'3 190 pound QB has verballed to play football at Eastern Washington. Of course not binding until LOI is signed in Feb. This must be who they were talking about on the podcast.

Keenan Curran:

MONTANA: “I could feel the tradition in the program from the first step on campus. All of the coaches are great guys and the stadium is so awesome,” Curran tells us. “The players are all cool and down to earth. I got to tour their facilities and watch a player-run practice. They also took me around the school and the campus is so beautiful.”

EASTERN WASHINGTON: “I feel like the EWU Coaches and I have a great relationship. I felt the most at home at EWU,” Curran says. “I didn’t participate in the camp but I watched and got a tour of all the facilities and got to sit down with Coach Baldwin for a one on one conversation as well. Eastern Washington has a good vibe and would be a fantastic place to play, I think I most enjoyed the way the coaches treat their players and just how down to earth they are.”

I love watching Reilly play, the kid is really a tremendous talent. Just watched Camas shred one of Oregon's top ranked teams. I sure hope we can hang on to him.

last I heard DJ Martin was enrolled at eastern. hopefully he works hard this year and gets everything in order academically. his video reminds me a lot of Chatman.

In a post game interview on a Pocatello radio station, Coach Kramer mentioned how hard they recruited Cooper while Eastern was asking him to come in as a walk on. When ISU offered him a scholorship Eastern me as forced to match the offer and the rest is history as they say. Makes me wonder if that is why Sorenson, Sharkey, and a couple of other Spokane kids are playing @ISU. Do we expect local kids to come in as walk-ons?

In most of those cases, yes. Eastern didn't offer those kids. I just don't think our staff graded them out higher than other kids, and offered the kids they felt were better. It has never been a case of Idaho State actually beating us out for their LOIs.

I don't know about the others, but I do remember that in the case of Sharkey, Eastern only offered him a partial while Idaho State offered him a full scholarship.
