Game Day Thread EWU @ Darth Vader U (NDSU)

Assuming most people on this site have done something competitive in their lives. I don't think I can recall a group of athlete's who perennially tighten up and develop narrower vision than the Eag's D over the past 10 years.. It's mindboggling. I'm still competitive and sometimes it happens, but there are a lot of techniques for "changing your state" in the middle of a game/match. DVU was able to do it, it's not a mystical secret or rocket science..

Agree but also think depth is playing a huge part in what we're seeing today. We're decimated at LB and our D line was undersized going into the season and losing Keith Moore has just compounded that problem. We're just not physical enough with what we have left to play with a team like NDSU.

Not much to say. We had a shot but pissed it away before half. Our best shot would have been to get up big on them early and force them to throw the ball. Just a couple made plays and this could have been a far different game.

that'll do it. What a strange season but despite all of the turmoil these guys still found a way to make it into the post-season and good on them. here's to next year.

Strange season for sure. I just hope that we can get some sense of normalcy and hopefully play a full season in the fall. As far as the defense goes, I’d get aggressive and try to pick up some transfers to fill se gaps. If everyone else is doing it we may as well too.

Yep, good season. They overcame a ton of adversity to get here. Regroup and get 'em next time!

Obviously, the D has completely given the game away (as expected). But does anyone remember that we ran the ball pretty well in the first half? Once again, we completely abandoned it and now can’t move the ball at all.

We are a really stupid team sometimes. This might be one of the most embarrassing games I’ve ever seen. Just a total difference in mindset between a tough team and a soft team.

Can't help thinking that today was the last FCS game for EWU with the board meeting coming up.

Even if they decide to continue at FCS, coaches are leaving, players are transferring, enrollment is down. Sad to see to a Top 10 program decline like this.

Add in the transfer portal rules that probably means Barrierre is gone too. Brutal. Covid killed this program. Had they played at Florida last year in a full house they would've been close to making their budget.

Please dont drop your football program. that would be horrible

enjoy the summer see ya in fall

hopefully NDSU v EWU in 2023 at US BANK stadium (Minn Vikings stadium!)
