Defense has looked pretty solid. Offense looked good up until the end of the half.

I just hate the play calling. Just run the ball and see if you can pick up the 1st. If not, punt the ball and make them drive the field.

Not at all bad despite giving up those 2 late TD's. We have over twice as much total offense and seem to be in more command of the game than NAU. Play our game and we'll be fine.

Eastern looked really good all the way up until the final third of the second quarter. That TD return for NAU seemed to have given them a lot of momentum to close out the half. Still, had we not chosen to get greedy and just punted the damn ball, we'd be up by 17. All that said, Bell has looked better than what I remember from last year. 180 yards and 2 TDs through the air with another one on the ground. Some of those throws were damn difficult, too. I feel a little better about the offense. Based on one half of observation, the defense is right where I thought they'd be.

I mean, I really don’t have any major criticisms apart from those last two series.

NAU gets the ball to start the half with the opportunity to tie the game. It'd be huge to come out and stop them cold in their tracks. Don't allow Pennington to get going and I think we win.

The offense has looked better than what I expected. The question is whether they can be consistent. You played one good half. Now go out there and win the game when it matters.
