Gameday Thread PSU 38 @ Eastern 35

Yep. Hard to watch. They’re going to march right back down the field and score again. Defense, completely hapless, and our offense can’t do shit either.

LOL. I was saying the same thing to my wife. PSU isn't a passing team, go man and stop the run.. Eag's seem particularly defocused today. Also, I don't think coaches watch film and have been saying it for years..
 
I’ve never been a guy to call for people’s jobs, but when it comes to defense and special teams, I don’t see a path forward with the coaches we have now. We can’t even line up right. They’re running for a bazillion yards, and yet we only have four guys on the line of scrimmage with linebackers 6 yards off the ball. It’s like we incentivize teams to do things to beat us.

As for the talent, this simply isn’t a talented team. Can anyone point to more than a couple guys on defense that would start for other Big Sky defenses?

I'm calling for all their heads. I think the talent has been coached out of them. Their hudl's out of HS were as good or better than most recruits in the BigSky aside from LB anyway. A clear example of misusing a player is Tre Weed. He is a safety. They've had him at corner since Jax St and he is a woeful corner. He is a good safety.

I trust what I see and don't need to waffle when it comes to talent. Eastern has talent everywhere but in the coaching room.

I hear what you’re saying, but look at our LBs, corners, and safeties. They aren’t even close to D1 level talent. Yeah, our defensive coaches have them out of position and they have no fire at all, but these guys aren’t even close to what we’ve historically seen at Eastern. Worse yet, our LBs are transfers, which is all the more alarming that we didn’t recruit that position.

Plus, why the hell is our kicker always injured? You’re a fucking kicker for Christ’s sake (at least in theory, you never actually make field goals). How many games can you be hurt?
 
We’re losing 28-0 to Portland State. It doesn’t get any worse than this. I’m hoping to see some serious moves in off-season.

It’s also time to sit Talkington and give someone else a chance. He’s hasn’t shown that he can consistently move the offense all year long. We really have nothing left to lose at this point so I don’t know why we continue with this insanity.
 
One team came ready to play today and the other team is Eastern... Could this team be in more disarray?
