GET THE STUDENTS OUT

WATERS SUCKS WATERS SUCKS!! ahh classic :)

Also once the team runs onto the floor and the fight song is ending we need ALL students to say weber st weber st weber st great great great. Then eventually get the whole crowd so everyone knows it is coming and can go along with it. Thats our fight song and it is very catchy to yell weber st great great great

Okay...now that we have spent the last day talking about it, what has been done to fix the problem?

I have invited 5 friends to come to both Saturday and Thursday, two are Bwhy?U fans one is a Cow fan and one is a Spewtah fan, the last one is not even a sports fan, but all five have said they would come and support Weber State.

The Turnover chant is fine, but sometimes it gets to a point you cant stand with some chants. I’m in the student section every game and will go along with whatever chant is being said. But, in the U of U game after Watkins air-balled his shot they chanted it the remainder of the game whenever he would touch the ball. It starts getting embarrassing at a point to keep doing a chant like that. I know for me and my group of 6-8 friends that come we get tired of chanting air-ball every time he touches it, you do it for the next few possessions then you move on. I don’t mind the defense chants, WSU chants, etc.

im glad to hear about you and your friends enjoying the games. i somewhat disagree though when you mentioned the air-ball chant. i thought that was the best student section chant at wsu in years. it was pretty good and loud and clear every time he touched the ball. that is the kind of thing we want at games. it is definitely not embarrassing. the rest of the crowd was enjoying the air ball chant and i can guarantee our team enjoyed it especailly since that was utah's only good player.

students can affect the game even if they dont think they are. i would take a crowd of 4,000 if 2,000 were students any day over 10,000 with 100 students.

you should be tired and your voice should hurt at the end of each game! :thumb: our student section has been pretty good, it has plenty of potential. it just takes a while to get everyone involved and knowing what is going on. if every student can one extra student to come to the next game they will keep coming back. all you need to see is this team play. i guess beating utah and usu wasnt quite enough. school is back in. i hope to see a big student section on saturday.

I love every Weber game!!! We were actually the front row people who paint our chest at the USU game, and hold up signs at the Weber game :-D

I also agree it was a great chant and I'm not saying don't do it, because it's one of the best in college basketball, but it happened in the first half and when we were still doing it midway through the second half, I was a little thrown off by saying it. I would much rather be yelling defence or something like that

this pic was sent to me before that game. i think paul parazzi sent it.

That was a great game, we are thinking of painting our chests again for the Montana game. Seems like it is the biggest remaining regular season game, other then potential bracket buster.

After a few rounds of AIRBALL, move to SHOOT THE BALL, and then COME ON SHOOT, finish up with PLEASE SHOOT. Way back in the day, we would use HEY 'players name' WE LOVE YOU. :thumb:

I, too, believe that student turn out AND community turnout SUCKS! Especially wherewe have the #1 scorer in the NCAA! Dame alone is worth the price od admission let alone throwing Scotty B for # in the mix and Bull and the rest of the crew. This team is INCREDIBLE.
There a lot of good ideas here. I remember when ya all had the game day sign making at the Victory Tree while scarfin down bratts and Dew. GOOOOOD TIMES! Just a thought ...what if we all bombarded the Sub Standard Exagerator with letters to the editor calling out the students AND the community? They can't ignore all of us can they?
Cat Cat, how do you feel about putting together a press release to the paper ? I can furnish photos to go woth it. Who knows...maybe they will decide to do a real story obout our plight. Just spit ballin....I am open to any and all suggestions too. You can email me at: [email protected] or [email protected]
My name in Paul Parazzi...and I approve of this post.

Frankly, it takes work and long term planning. You've got to be dedicated and willing to follow through with the mundane to be successful. But, at the same time, you can have a hell of a lot of fun. I know that WSUSA has a committee and a VP in charge of this area. Too bad they don't care. Calling out the WSUSA advisor YET again ( :wtf: its almost an annual event), but it doesn't do any good. She only cares about doing the bare minimum and living a mediocre life. Its a shame that Weber won't hire anyone who strives for Excellence in everything they do. Bev was the only advisor who truly cared and tried. She knew that her work effort directly reflected her. WSUSA is a joke...so the advisor must be one too.

Halftime here on the front row of the student section, student involvement is good about 8 rows. Up...we do have kids on the right side of the front row who aren't getting into it though... :wtf:

We need more Lillard and some better offense in general. Hopefully Coach Rahe can make the necessary adjustments.

Someone needs props for the student section tonight, it was big and loud. I dont know what anyone is unhappy about. We have had massive student sections for the instate games and pretty good for all the others except for sac state at 2pm during winter break. We just need everyone to cheer. FYI, its always an up hill battle to get the entire student section to cheer. I watched an Illinos game the other day and it took everyone in the front row to turn around and wave there hands in the air for people to get loud and they didn't even really start to get loud until the game was on the line. We have proven we can get loud as heck especially if the game is close or on the line! One thing I have picked up on is that people feed off others energy pretty good. If your a student just get loud with a friend and everyone else around you will join, if they believe your into the game and you stick with it.

I actually like that people are complaining. Lets keep complaining until the place sells out. If anyone does have a problem with how loud the student section is there are a few things they can do about it.

Print and pass out flyers on campus/put them on cars.
Email the appropriate people and ask what they are doing to promote the game.
Your also more then welcome to come into the student section and start whatever chant you want/help out. Just one or two really loud people can make an impact and get everyone around them much louder. If you don't think you should because your not a student then take a night class one night a week or something. Thats a joke, but when the game is on the line remember to get LOUD wherever your sitting and get everyone around you LOUD!!!

Keep up the good work and hopefully we will have another good showing on saturday and GO CATS!

OH BABY! The Waters era was awesome! That vid brought tears of joy to my eyes.( and yes I cry at chick flix...Chicks dig it...LOL!) Thanx Skilz!
Saturday night can be MORE awesome. I remember the sign painting tailgates b4 b-ball games. Saturday is a HUGE game. How about lots of signs, and loud, obnoxious voices? Talhad, you are the most knowlegable one that I know of on this forum. Which Grizz players deserve to be picked on like ya'all used to do to Waters? How about counting down 5-4-3-2-1 when the shot clock hits 10 seconds? (just spewing out randomness)
We have tons of ideas....Remember, Saturday night is Grizz jerky night!

Selvig and Cherry. If I were on the front row still, those are the two I'd go after. Kareem Jamaar would be a close third.

Different dynamic now. Thats why things are different. I can't say that things were better in the past, but I do wonder why students go to the games if they don't want to get involved. Interesting.

I'm ready for the Sac State game. The fam will be out en masse with signs and we will bring the noise so the 'Cats can feel at home...wish we could all make the trip to Utah at the same time...

Students should go after Cherry hard. He is the one who hammered Lillard with a foul that wasn't called at halfcourt in the final seconds of the 2010 tourney title game.

He is a quick good defender, but not a great perimeter shooter. Students should turn him into the villain like Waters was. Get into his head in Pre-game about how awesome he shoots the 3. Let him know he should really start using the glass when he shoots his 3 balls. It would be nice to hear Cherry sucks
Cherry sucks
Cherry sucks
Cherry sucks.... Make sure all the E-Griz fans can hear it on BigSkyTV.... Waters style

Just got word that purple pak has 300+ members this year. That would fill more than two sections in the student section. where are they???

Actually we don't participate with the cheers that, arent necessary. We are the ones who paint our chests and do the signs so I'm not sure what your smoking. When your trying to keep changing air ball an hour after the guy threw up the air ball we sort of get tired of hearing you try and start that one up with 5 other students. And I know the people who sit behind us where complaining about that too. If you would stick with better cheers (Defense, WSU, etc.) maybe more of the student section would stay involved. So to call out us when we weren't as loud as usual for one game, but have the rest of the game is a little immature :bad:

I like the Cherry sucks idea as well I think you can get a good group going off that one.

just help us out more. we do more chants than just those.... like start other chants if you get tired of the ones we start :shocking:

Hmm..we did airball for maybe 5 minutes after? Anyways, that's in the past. You guys should start some chants tonight too. Let's band together instead of bicker. Let's chat before the game and get on the same page, yeah?

im on the same page as skills. we get the whole front row together to get cheers started and work together we could get the student section going. this is a huge game we need to band together and be loud and get in montanas head. im all for the cherry sucks idea

So... Turnover chant still sucked on Thursday... Same old 15 people doing it. :blah: Any resolutions to it yet?? :wall:
