As if this was bad enough, now we have Montana coming into Hornet Stadium next week. Ugh.
Hornet!Mark! said:Kadeezy and all you other people who think MBT is better have know idea what football is. You all just look at statistics and have know idea about the other aspects of the game. If MBT hadn't started for UCLA because the starting and backup QB's got hurt, you wouldn't be talking. Obviously he left for a reason like the new head coach basically said You won't be getting any playing time, I wonder why.

I agree as well. This is also compounded by all of the wideouts run deeper routes with no underneath or dumpoff pass. If there isn't one it gets tougher. You have to get the ball out quicker against good teams or you get sacked. Without good protection or time the QB can't go through his progression or reads. He just doesn't have the time to do this. How many times have you seen an outlet?SactoHornetAlum wrote:

The problem I see with BOTH QB's is that they both have their mind made up to who they are throwing it to before the snap. That's obvious becuase neither QB takes the time to read the defense and make a a play.
You are absolutely correct. This has bugged me for quite a while...the "Im calling a play and sticking with it come hell or high water" attitude. Against good teams, they rip us apart all day in doing that...and they have so far this year.

I’m glad they have gotten two wins, and they should beat Northern Colorado and could potentially beat Northern Arizona, but four wins is the most they will have. I really thought the team was going to take a step forward this year.

When are we going to recruit a Higgins, Nichols or Denham?
This was a systematic failure, offense, defense and Special teams all looked unprepared. Sperbeck is not the answer.
Weber was as bad under graybeal and the hornets were under mooshiagian. Mcbride has turned that program into high gear in the same time we have not improved in any aspect. We have the highest paid HC and budget in the BSC, yet we still suck. Where have we improved?

And it is year 16 for Baiz, that guy should have a defensive dynasty by now.

I agree that Sac State under Sperbeck has maybe improved to the top of the bottom tier, or the bottom of the second tier. But, for the ten years I’ve been following the Hornets, they have not been in the top tier. I may be mistaken but they are the only school in the conference to have not won or tied for the conference championship (I’m not counting UNC).SDHornet said:I've given up hope said:I so badly want the Hornets to improve, but I just haven’t seen it. Your screen name says it all. But I will say this. I view the Big Sky Conference in 3 tiers. 1st tier is the top 3 teams, 2nd teir, the middle teams, and the 3rd tier teams being the bottom of the conference. I honestly feel that Sperbeck has pulled this program from the 3rd tier into the lower 2nd tier. I want to see Sperbeck pull this program from the lower 2nd tier to compete with the lower 1st tier. I honestly believe this is currently in progress. All of our losses have come against ranked opponents, ranked as in top 25 FCS teams (UNLV was a FBS loss). This program is definitely moving in the right direction. Trust me; I was a student during the Moosh Dark Ages. We are far from that. I couldn’t get through a game without a heavy drinking pre-party. (OK sometimes I never remembered a game, but can you blame me?) We’ll see how things shape up in the next few seasons.
