1. Don't get on Monson for botching a punt return when the penalty was for "Fair catch interference." Holy crap, he only returned one for 70 yards against Stanford last week, the first since 2003 and you are criticizing him for muffing a punt in which he was interfered with by the kicking team?
2. On the last touchdown drive, Hilliard was huge and was running like a beast. When he got tired, McGowan came in and gave him a breather and did a great job, so I would say Sperbeck was using McGowan at the right time. If you were at the game, you wouldn't have written what you did because Hilliard was running against a very tired WOU defense who we had finally worn down. Their d-line was dog tired at that point and we just ran the rock down their collective throat.
Special teams, except for an offside's call in the Stanford game was incredible, however, they weren't as good in this game for some reason. I think we are much better than in years past. Diniz kicks his kick-offs too high and need to kick them a bit flatter so he can get them to the end zone.
By the way, Pereira plays DL this year, not LB, so he won't hurt us from a depth perspective.
7800 for a D2 opponent isn't pathetic. It isn't great, but hardly pathetic.
