I don't get this......

Whoever the new coach is....
Do they know they don't have a secretary or a Director of Football Operations?

Just another thing that needs to change at UNC.. UNC is a D1 FCS school still operating as a D2 school.

The new coach needs some money pumped in the program. The Coordinators need raises.
Money talks and if there isn't any- people will keep leaving!

Oh and I doubt that the rumors are true.
1st- the players aren't on campus today.
2nd- Jay would've let this out. He has an new upcoming commercial to work on.
Southwest Airlines "want to get away"

Does anyone know anything about Logan as far as what he coaches?

Type of offense? Hopefully not a Darnell type of spread..
Type of Defense does he like? A 4-3 is set here. Wanting a 3-4 would take a big time turn-around/ turnover
in recruiting different players.
Does he have assistants coming?
A new O-line coach?

If we hire another coach besides Logan, do you really think anybody in Colorado will even really care if we are successful?

90% of Greeley doesn't care about UNC, so why would anyone else in the state care?

We need ALL the attention Logan can bring because nobody CARES about UNC athletics except some students and alum. We play in a small high school stadium in both basketball and football and we need all the attention we can get.

We would gain attention by putting some Ws on the board. This whole Logan thing feels like the Glanville fiasco at Portland St., they thought hiring a big name would garner them attention and success, which it did not.

That's probably the most negative thread on this board ever. WOW.

Would somebody let Jay know- he's probably in Kansas somewhere- that he needs to make a decision QUICKLY..

Go ahead and hire Logan..
But- you need to keep your current staff. The coordinators need big raises- cuz their gonna be teaching Logan alot.. (Like it or not- that's true!!)
2. You need to find the best O-line coach you can get. That's very important..
3. Hire a Director of Football that has experience
4. Get your football coaches a secretary

Get off your butt yo- man up and make a decision!

What uncbears says is basically true but I don't agree that our basketball arena is anything like any high school I've ever seen.

I don't think any of us fans and alums ever try to pretend that UNC gets anywhere near the interest that CU or CSU do and, in my opinion, that's what makes it so great to be a UNC fan. CU and CSU fans are a dime a dozen but us UNC fans are a rare breed. However, I'm not saying that I want to keep it this way. If we get Logan as the coach, think about the press coverage that the Denver Post will give us. I think he would be a risky hire, but it's the kind of calculated risk that could pay off exponentially.

I agree with the high risk/high reward potential with Logan but the more I think about it what do we have to lose?

Can we get less respect from the other Big Sky schools, can we choke more, can we lose more?

Yes, maybe but not by much...

In other words why not shoot for the top, I'll take any of the remaining candidates over the former regime so whoever it is is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

If Logans out.... Who's left?

Or is the committee starting over?

The other two candidates left might feel slighted, so my guess is that the offer the job to Deti or Peterson. But they might feel slighted as well. There's no way they can start over. We have only 5 weeks until signing day.

It looks like this situation has gone from bad to worse. Coach Dave Logan, who I know and respect has turned down the job. Mike Breske and Bob Stitt have turned the job. Earnest Collins must be thinking what in the world is going on in Greeley. If he is as smart as I think he is I would stay right at Alcorn.
I would bet the house that the Monforts had something to do with Logan getting in on the job. Jay and Kay had to listen (Monfort School of Business, I have a couple degree's from there). So the money was most likely going to come in if Dave took the job. He pulled out, so no money. The guy who I know would have been able to raise the money to get things going in Greeley is staying in Golden. I do not blame him one bit!
I feel sorry for the alums of the football program, I feel sorry to the current players, and the fans that are left. A once proud football program has been turned into a joke.
The next head coach can not possibly feel like he was the best man for the job, the top three candidates dropped out. Logan, Stitt, Breske. I maybe wrong on the last one, I hit a home run on the 1st two once Logan got into the picture. The only way this situation can be resolved....Put up the money and show the support in the coaching salaries that needs to be there. Make this a good job, right now it is not! There are D 2 jobs better then UNC. Make somebody want to have this job that can bring good coaches to help him get it done. That is the only way this can get fixed. Kay and Jay I hope you read this. Please read this

Yeah, yesterday I was saying I thought Hinrichs must have this all under control...

OK so I'll be a flake here and says oops, maybe I was wrong...

I'm just hoping this get resolved soon I don't care who it is anymore.

I would say offer the job to Peterson or Deti and lets move on..
Either-- let Peterson bring in "his guys" from his Kan State/ Wash State days or let Deti bring in his guys
from his Purdue/ Eastern Kentucky/ Princeton days....

But I was told Peterson didn't even apply- doesn't want it.

So give it to Deti.
Just a few weeks ago (2) only 2, of the current players convinced some of us that he is the man.. Let Deti bring in his coaching circle and lets move on.
Lets see- 2 bowl game victories during the Drew Brees years..
The defense has been pretty good- despite of staying on the field for most of every game..

I was told he (Deti) made the final 15 head coach list..
Did anybody see who he would bring in as assistants?

Is the admin ready to step up and at least hire an Director of Football?
Is the admin ready to step up and pay decent money for Coordinators?

Make the hire- get recruiting going- gotta put up some wins next year (at least 6)-
Wins will put fans in the seats!!

I'm wondering if Hinrichs broke NCAA rules by bringing in someone who wasn't on the finalist list. From what I understand if they did that, they would need to re-open the position; from which I don't think they did. They won't have time to re-open the job and they'll have to hire one of the two finalist.

WTF !!!! This is turning into a nightmare!!. JayJay or DM better have a freakin rabbit up there sleeve come monday morning. And where in the hell is the Greeley Trib???
