Was there a search comitte and finalists when Boyle left? No, they just hired Hill like 5 minutes later.
IF they closed the position then they must take the applicants that applied within the time frame. I don't know if the position is closed or not. Did Hinrichs just go around the search committee recommendations? Logan was NOT part of the finalist and then all of the sudden he is on campus and we make an offer. Something is wrong with that picture.

The fact we extend an offer and get rejected is such bad publicity and totally humiliating. Why were the ducks not in a row? How do you not know exactly what it takes to get the deal done and only extend an offer as a final formality?
Unless Logan lied or reneged on an agreement and if so then letting us extend an offer and then reject it is going to do heavy damage to our reputation... if that's possible at this point.
The more I think about this the more annoyed I'm getting.

Hope it's #1 because, if not, it will be Jay's ass next on the chopping block. There's no reason for this process to take this long, and be this much of a cluster. Just higher somebody, if I had to pick it would be O'Boyle, and get this show on the road.

I know alot of you have bashed the current staff- we the players have too at times. But give the job to Coach Deti!
He doesn't settle for a loss. He will work his butt off until winning is a norm!
He can turn this around!

That's all well and good FBALLNUT, but the committee didn't think anyone who didn't coach here in the glory days was worthy of consideration. From what I heard, Deti didn't get any consideration. As for Logan, the committee was in 100% agreement that he was the first choice.

Coach Deti may be the answer but sorry ,outside of seeing him pace the sidelines,, a lot of us just don't know him very well! I am really disappointed we have not heard anything today
Bearcub - you seem to be close to the situation. What's going on? Also, where is Fedup. He was close to the committee as well. As far as Deti, I can see that. I would be fine with that. However, I have one question for you former players: If Deti was such a good coach, why didn't you play better for him? The defense wasn't horrible, but not great at the same time.BearCub said:

I think if he was given the opportunity, he would have been a hell of a head coach for us. Let's not forget that the head coach still has the final say on his staff and his decisions can sway the perception about the whole staff.
