Introduce yourself

My name is Papabear,
I hope you don't mind me visiting your web page. I'm a Cent. Ark. Bearbacker, GO BEARS ! I've been to the beautiful city of Portland and WOW was we impressed. The airport is wonderful. Not to mention the people who are so friendly, and the food is great. I love the Vikings football uniforms. We had solid colors at one time, but powers to be made us change. If anyone has the time I'd like to know about the football Vikings. Anyways thank you for allowing Papa to visit, Go BEARS !

Welcome, Papa. Say I've been really impressed with Central. Quite a good showing from a school that was D2 not too long ago. Great stuff!

Ditto with laxVik. We welcome all to this forum and maybe we can make the Viks your West Coast team . It should be fun with Glanville, Mouse and the rest this upcoming season and in the future. I don't know much about Central Ark., but will check it out. We welcome outside points of view and when you came to Portland again, check out the new run and shoot Viks!

My name is Noah and i am finishing up my Business degrees at PSU in the fall.

I played DE for the Viks under Walsh 03 - 05. My senior season was cut short by injury in 05. Now that Glanville and mouse are here to grow the program I have done my part in purchasing some season tickets.

Lets fill up the stands

Whos House!!!!! Viks House!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, my name is Jan (a guy - pronounce like "Yun").

I studied at PSU as an international graduate student and received my M.A. this summer. During my two brief years here, I have seen PSU develop and thrive, and I am proud to belong to such a energetic and dynamic institution. Oh yeah, I also managed to get totally hooked on college football...go Viks!

Edit: I don't wanna be a waterboy. How many postings is that gonna last?^^

Welcome Jan. I think that it's either 50 or 100 posts to move on past waterboy.

There are quite a few people who connect daily who almost never post. Whether or not you think you know a lot about Viking athletics, I'm sure we'd all love to have your commentary to liven up discussions. If you have time, maybe you could add your thoughts on the future of PSU in general, or on Jerry Glanville's progress, or lack thereof. If not, maybe you could participate in the chat box on Saturday for the game.

As a kid I went to PSU football games back in the Pokey Allen years. Even when I was a student at OSU during the Chad Johnson / Ken Simonton years, I followed the Viks instead. The thing that has me ignoring the pac-10 and loving big sky football is the playoff system. So much better than the bowl system.

As for hoops, I grew up when PSU had no team, so I went to U of P games. I was a big Michael Holton fan, and when he was fired I couldn't get myself to root for them anymore. When Dominguez transfered to PSU it gave me a reason to check out the Viks, and I was hooked from the first home game this year.

This seems like a great forum, a lot of other forums seem to have tons of negativity towards each other that I don't notice here.

I've been curious about other regulars here, and it dawned on me that I haven't got around to introducing myself! Briefly, I started teaching at PSU in '65, back when it was PSC. Football then was Willamette, Lewis and Clark and the like. When we eventually played Big Sky teams it was a major event. I've followed the team through the Pokey Allen years, of course, Mouse Davis and all. It's been interesting, watching the team grow with the university, fighting the image of a downtown older-student commuter school. Looks like a mini-UCLA now. But Portland's not LA, and Oregon's not California (the seventh largest economy in the world). We may not make it into the "Bowl Championship" ranks. I still teach at PSU, though, and follow the team. We played at PGE Park, though it wasn't PGE then. This talk about filling in the eastside and completing the horseshoe? It's been done, back when the Timbers filled the stadium. In fact, when we had playoffs here. Beats me why they're talking 20 million dollars to do it now.

Long time and coming I am Viking1985 I own a couple of franchises in Beaverton. Would rather separate sports and business so I won't get into detail. Caught the Viking fever when I was a frosh in college and saw the Viks play at the Coliseum. Now I am just a DIE HARD.

I run the WOU site, The Wolves Den. Actually Jeremy of this site did all the work in putting it together. Major props, he's a wizard in putting these boards together. I was invited here to post about the WOU-PSU game, which I hope to make.

I've lived in all three NW states, including Oregon (obviously), and lived in Portland for three years. I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind returning. I graduated from WOU too many years ago 8-) and now live in Boise, Idaho. I really miss living in Oregon (despite the rain) and have enjoyed watching not only WOU athletics grow and improve, but also that of PSU. One can get really "over-Ducked" with all those ugly "O" stickers, hats, and shirts while living in Oregon. Hope to see some of you PSU fans at the WOU game!

Hello VIkings fans,
I'm Nate Waldron the older (and smaller) brother of Dustin Waldron from Eugene, Oregon, who will be an incoming freshman lineman this year at PSU. I have not been exposed much to Portland State other than a few visits up there with my brother but it seems like a great place and Dustin is very excited to get up there and start playing with all the great players already at PSU and the great new recruiting class, some of which he played against last year at Marist (Cory McCaffrey, Zach Todd). I played at Marist High School from 2003 to 2006 and was a part of two state championship teams as a defensive end and tight end, the second of which was won with my brother on the team as a left tackle d tackle. I went to Linfield College for a year and really enjoyed the football program but transferred to the University of Oregon to be closer to home, at a bigger school, and able to coach basketball at Marist. Dustin has been really working hard this offseason in the weight room with myself and other Marist alumni and current players and in speed training with George Walcott a former Pac-10 track 200m champion. After talking to the coaches about bulking up at the end of the year he really committed himself to developing more strength and bulking up some. Just yesterday he weighed in at 268 pounds, up from the 250 that is being listed on the roster and in articles on Oregonlive.
