I've got no problem with you guys being optimistic about your team. I've got no problem with you guys having a problem with folks on our board predicting a blowout. The only thing I've got a problem with is the pure misrepresentation and exaggeration being used to try and prove a point. When folks start doing that they quickly lose credibility with me. FWIW, I call folks out on our board on this stuff, too.

Oh, and I think you meant to say "I couldn't care less". Saying that you could care less implies that you care some in the first place, but I'm assuming you were going for the opposite effect. And if that is indeed the case, I assure you that I am crushed that you don't care about our chants. It makes me sad.

Never thought I'd study semantics on the Weber board. Sorry, I was a MIcrobiology major. Me no speaka ingles.

Looking forward to seeing all the Weber fans in Logan on Saturday. Love MAC and I'm always pulling for WSU as long as they aren't playing USU!

Just had another thought...and GA mentioned this before the Auburn game. Aggies need to learn to deal with adversity AND success. The team needs to not relax when we get a lead, etc. We saw that, at least to some extent, in the Auburn game. We didn't handle the success well!

It's probably fair to say, after years of mediocrity (or less!) with football, that our fans are dealing with the same thing. And while a loss to Auburn isn't success, it is a great feeling to go into a game like that and expect to win. At least that's how I felt.

So, some of these grandiose forecasts of beating down Weber on Saturday are probably us as fans being "excessively optimistic" with our new world. GA's a great coach, and we're all excited about the direction of the program. I love our fans though!

Just a thought...much respect to Weber, your fans and athletes. See you all on Saturday!

Aggie fan here,

I quickly went through the Aggie prediction thread and averaged score predictions removing predictions from Weber fans, an USU troll and an Auburn fan (who said we would win 52-10). The result is a score of 44 to 20 in favor of the Aggies.

I also averaged the Weber predictions on your site including one prediction on the USU site not on the Weber site. The average score is 34 to 31 for the Aggies.

I have also seen when one set of fans are very optimistic about their team they average about a ten point increase in their teams score. Both teams have a lot of optimism regarding their teams play after last week so if you remove 10 points from Aggie predictions you get a score of 34 to 20. If you remove 10 points from wildcat fans you get a score of 34 to 21.

I hope there is a good game with no injuries and after this week, great success from both teams. I will root for the Wildcats for every game after they play my Aggies and I hope to see a 34 to 21 win for USU on Saturday

this coming from a fanbase who had threads dedicated to emailing the Lds church over Jumbgate..
Jumbogate was awesome..
Aggies= Most classless hypocritical fanbase in the country
What the heck is Jumbogate?

my understanding of Jumbogate:

Most Aggie lds faithful left the church after a byu student left a l0 second message on their jumbotron after the Aggies lost in the Marriott Center, it read something like "Enjoy the loss Aggies, Love your Big Brother BYU". Most dissenting church members started their own sect involving Warren Jeffs, cheese (fermunda), and Wranglers.

Agreed!! After my beloved Cats, I always cheer for the Aggies (I do have an absolute and complete hatred for BYU and Utah; I could care less about the shit down south). Whenever I hear the Scotsman I can't help but to sing along. As for Saturday. I really do hope for a close, good/clean game, that is injury free. Of course, I'm hoping for a Weber State victory, then again, I am looking through purple colored glasses.

Ah, yes. Now I remember. Though I don't remember any threads about emailing the Church about it. If there were Aggies B&M'ing about that I probably told them to get over it, too.

I thought that was a pretty funny thing for them to do. Takes me back to the blue paint bomb and Jerry Tarkanian...now THAT was creative, and even Tark thought that was cool!

Why do folks always have to exaggerate stuff? Who is picking us to win by 50? There are a few picking us to win by 2-3 touchdowns, maybe a handful saying more. There are also a few saying it will indeed be a close game. It seems like in this thread you've all resorted to mocking a fanbase based on false premises because you've got nothing to stand on yourself. Civility, please.

Hmm, a lesson in civility from the most classless fans in the NCAA. Why don't you go practice your winning team losing team chant? BTW, I believe that someone even had consolidated the predictions.

LOL, you just proved BBD's point in this post. Not 1 of those predictions are 50 points or more! So a few people think we beat a Big Sky team by 30 points...I don't see the big deal. Did you see us play Saturday? If not, you'll see why people are so optimistic this Saturday.

Also, one more thing. This smiley represents some of the people this message board so well. :willybs: :willybs: :willybs: :willybs: :willybs:

Take a look in the mirror

On the subject of watching you play last weekend, the aggies have history of playing thier BCS games close only to turn around and have 3-9 and 4-8 seasons. Excuse us if we dont jump on the USU bandwagon

I didn't ask you to jump on the bandwagon, merely understand why "some" of our fans are so optimistic. We flat dominated the defending National Champions in their house for 57 minutes...
For reference, I bet if we were playing Wyoming this week, the final score prediction average would be similar to what it is for you guys, around 17-21 points.

And Weber flat out dominated Wyoming in many aspects of the game, but how can any Aggie fan just assume they are better than Wyoming? I go back to what I said before, USU has history of playing thier BCS foes real close only to turn around and finish 2-10, 3-9 and 4-8.

Why should we assume that this year will be any different? You guys looked good against Auburn, but you also looked good against Oklahoma and TA&M, and we all know how those seasons ended. :coffee:

They didn't say it would be a 50 point smackdown but they are all expecting to blow us to infinity and beyond according to this thread's vote count. http://www.usufans.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13876" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Auburn will not make it to a bowl game this year; even though 75% of all FBS teams go bowling. This Auburn team only shares one thing with last season's BCS Champ; the name on their jerseys. Auburn looked sluggish, confused, and inexperienced. With that being stated, I'll admit it, USU looked good last week against a supposedly far superior team (SEC). They moved the ball well, controlled the clock, and were able to limit Auburns offense. What does that tell us? Not a whole lot. However, if USU can't have a winning season and go bowling this year, with the absolute joke of a schedule they have, wow...there should be no hope for Aggie football.

Weber may be an Division I FCS team, but at least we can say we've had 10 win seasons and winning seasons in the past 30+ years.

Big Bad USU's last 2 games against Powerhouse Wyoming

2006- USU 7, Wyo 38
2007- USU 18, Wyo 32

Small little FCS Weber's last 2 games vs Powerhouse Wyoming

2009- WSU 22, Wyo 29
2011- WSU 32, Wyo 35

Hanging your hat on a loss, regardless of how close the game was or who the opponent was, shows the pathetic state your football program has been in over the past three decades. I've never seen so much excitement over a loss. And I sure hope the team takes Weber as lightly as their fans are.

We'll see about that. Even the worst SEC teams are better than bottom MWC teams.

Are you seriously bragging about 10 win season/winning seasons in the FCS? Yeah, we beat Big Sky teams too, they usually make up most of USU's wins, and isn't USU like 10-1 vs. Weber all time?
