My guess is that McNeese doesn't have enough DB's to cover four receivers and stop the run.

P.S. Blitzing? Forget about it! Slants, shovels, screens, flats, delays. You aint seen nothing yet!

Curious as to why and how you came to that conclusion?

What do you REALLY know about us.

6'1" 200 pounders with 4.3 speed on the La Gulf Coast are a dime a dozen. That is why most schools down here play a 4-2-5 defense.

When you blitz you are leaving your secondary on an island, with 4 WR's going out at once you won't have enough players to cover all of them and blitz, hence somebody is going to be wide open, example.

Watch this video, go to 2:44 minutes into the video, and you wills see what happens when you blitz.

WOW, and all this time we thought our coaches knew what they were doing when they won those 11 conference championships, 27 playoff games, and got us to the NC game twice. /users/31/07/37/smiles/645213.gif

Guess what? Nobody gives what you did in the past! Its over, done with, gone with the wind. This is the here and now! What does this team have going for them? Cause PSU doesn't play the teams with 11 conference championships, 27 playoff games, and got us to the NC game twice.
icon_rolleyes.gif
Your coaches don't have any of that! Your past coaches do, we aren't playing against your past coaches! Damn.....you sound like a certain Griz fan all PSU fans now.
icon_rolleyes.gif
Can't backup there team in whats happening right now they have to go lean on the past.

Well I guess we will have to watch out for your tradition, Defense will ahve to step up or your tradition will run all over us.

Now please can we talk football? Beyond what McNeese72 has posted you fans have provided no evidence of how good you are, beyond people running 4.3's
icon_rolleyes.gif

Derrick Fourroux, his TD to INT ratio is bad, along with completion rate, can he refrain from making mistakes? Cause the Vikings led the nation in interceptions with 19 total, we take advantage of all mistakes

Your RB's are slim, your leading rusher has graduated and the 2nd person behind him in rushing is your QB, The Vikings were 13th in America last year against the run, schools like New Mexico really struggled against us in that category. So my question MSU fans is what are yu going to do on offense? Cause our defense is going to hit hard and prevent you from scoring.

Maybe McNeese can take their trophies out onto the field, show them to the fans and claim the victory.

Jamie Leonard graduated??? That's news to me, I thought he was a senior this year??

He would have had a shot at a 1,000 yard season but he hurt a hamstring half way through the season. After that we'd get quarter or two out of him and he would have to come out of the game. He didn't play in the last game against Nicholls and didn't make the trip to Montana.

He isn't exactly small at 5' 11" and 191lbs. And we have Neeley Hubbard back after missing the season due to academics. He is 5' 9" and 212lbs and was the best looking runningback in the 2006 spring game before he had to sit out.

Our strength on offense is our WR's. Steven Whitehead is the one to watch. Player of the year in Southland last season. Returns punts and kicks, they also get the ball to him with passes and reverses and he even threw a TD pass last season. Carlese Franklin is the go to guy across the middle. They all can run but Quinten Lawrence it the burner and the deep threat. And there are some others behind them that are pretty good, too. We did lose our WR coach to the Oakland Raiders over the offseason.

The TE's really looked good in the spring. Both big Kyle Link at 6'6" 272lbs and the smaller Wesley Mangan 6' 3" and 223 who plays like a big WR. Also, we throw to our tailbacks and fullbacks out of the backfield.

As far as Fourroux, he was a redshirt freshman starting his first year and he made a lot of improvements during the seasons. He did end up with the highest QB rating in the Southland Conf. last season.

Looks to me like that is what happened when you blitzed Hawaii. Last I checked, we are playing the Vikes. Unless of course you are saying your team is as good as Hawaii because you run the same offense.

ESPN said he was a senior, oh well. Few RBs had success against us last season., California's Marshawn Lynch was one, along with MSU's RB, Oregon's RB Jonathan Stewart was another. But the rest struggled. We also were very good at getting to the QB.

Our secondary is very good, we have played some incredible WRs, Marcus Smith of New Mexico, DeShaun Jackson of California, etc. So we know what to expect at DB, your WRs may be excellent but if your QB struggles MSU could be in trouble. the vikings led the nation with 19 INTs last year, we take advantage of miscues. We manhandled players like Matt Gutierrez, former Michigan QB. California QB Joe Ayoob struggled, and most of the rest had their difficulties. for me in this game I'm only scared of how the offense does, will we come out firing and learning? On defense I think we will have no issue with MSU's offense, we have dealt with a lot better.

Okay, we give up. We don't have a chance in hell of winning this game. Our athletes might be small but they are slow! The only places our coaches have coached besides college ball is high school ball. You guys don't even have to bring your whole team down here. Just bring the 7 on 7 people. That ought to be enough. And the weather won't affect your superior athletes at all.

We are going to get our butts kicked,
Doc

P.S. You do know that the Great Montana has never won a game in Cowboy Stadium in three tries?

But teams like Weber State have. /users/31/07/37/smiles/700923.gif We are not afraid of a team we already have beaten. Still haven't heard anything about your players. How's your defense, player by player? I have already learned that you 1.)Your WRs are unstoppable 2.)QB has bad ratings and stats but it was because he was a FR 3.)Your RB pulled his hamstring.

Based on what we do know. this is going to be a heck of a game. I envy the MSU fans because it is going to be in their stadium.

What is the metro area population of Lake Charles?

If you count Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake, and the other surrounding communities, probabloy 150,000 or maybe a little more.

There is no way a little podunk town like ours can field a team as good as the big city of Portland.

Hey now. I don't think anyone would say that. This is going to be a tough one. Would love to see it in person.

Thanks for the answer but I did not intend to degrade your area.

Did I see an H or a viking on those helmets that scored? On defense, for sure, i didn't see this /users/31/07/37/smiles/mcneeses.gif on their helmets.

This video shows you a little what our atmosphere is like inside the stadium with our fans.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wE816Y7Y7Q

Pretty cool, that was 2002? Grass looked brown /users/31/07/37/smiles/537744.gif Stadium looked like it could seat 25-30K.

Those videos were all shot in December or late November 2002 for the most part, thus the reason the kid at the beginning was wearing a sweat shirt and our chearleaders all had jackets on.

That is pretty much what our real grass looked like after a season of abuse. This will be the last year for us to have real grass. We put down ProPlay at the end of this year.

Here is another shot of whay our tailgate parties ussually look like at some point.

Correct!

I wonder how the coaching battle will turn out, Glanville and Mouse vs Viator and his club.
