Montana State

I was at lunch watching the Breeders Cup when the score scrolled across the bottom of the screen. I yelled "YES" and then pee'd myself. Nice Job BEARS!!!!!!!!! P.S. Good Call GoBears!!

It wasn't surprise on the FG...I just hate calling them, because I never have a good angle ;) I knew Bigelow had the leg and accuracy, but just needed a good, clean shot.

Now, surprise on the TD is another story...The refs gave us one, though we probably would have scored a play later.

WOW!!! Great job Bears, I HATE the MSU team. I am glad that your crew got up and punched them in the mouth. Great first win in the BIG SKY, I hope that you can build off of this.

I certainly deserve some ridicule by the optimistic crowd so go ahead and give it to me, this might be your last chance for a while! Just kidding, but no I echo the sentiments above that is was great to see a tough fought victory. Wow, college football can be fun when your team earns a hard fought win. I've gotten so used to being kicked in the nuts each week it's great to do the kicking for once. The Montana State fans are in meltdown mode and it's a bit entertaining to watch over at Bobcatnation.com. In the past I might have felt bad for them but after all the smack we've had to listen to the last couple of years I have no sympathy for anyone anymore.

The next step now is building on this. Scanning the schedule I'd love to see a victory over Sac State and an 8th place finish in conference. I think 2 conference victories would be something solid to build on for next season.

Loved it when you were describing the fans celebrating then the color guy mentioned "all 8 students" still watching the game. I guess I knew then, the goal posts were not coming down. :D

Sarcasm, pure sarcasm. There were actually a number of students celebrating--more than 8. And they made no move for the goalposts, which I'm alright with.

It is taking every ounce of self restraint I have not to taunt the hell out of those at bobcatnation.com. But I will hold off untill another one of them spouts off about us.

Great job by Bigelow, he was having a rough time, and missing stuff he should have made, hopefully he will have the cofidence that he can in fact make kicks.

Congrats to the whole Bears program on a good win, and breaking the streak.

If Dowing and the staff can put together another conference win, I will consider this season as foward progress. Not finishing in the celler will be nice too, hopefully Downing uses that, so that the players know they have someting to fight for.

Don't hold back. I've been over on bobcatnation and egriz and all of those people are just saying boobcats lost the game and we didn't really win the game. That's BS because we shot ourselves in the foot a few times too. I can't stand MSU and UM fans. They think they're Southern Cal or Notre Dame. I can't wait until we beat the griz next year.

No kidding...they turned the ball over 5 times, here's the result of each of our possessions after a turnover:

-1 yard, Punt
Halftime
5 yards, Fumble
55 yards, Field Goal
2 yards, Blocked Punt

3 points off turnovers, wow. They didn't have any points off turnovers, I guess they'll say it was the difference in the game, but outside of the FG we got a total of 6 yards on possessions after they turned it over to us.

Congrats on the win you guys!! I usually dont go to other forums after our team plays them but after hearing you guys won your first game, I thought it was pretty cool especially beating a nationally ranked FCS team. Just like Hawaii breaking the losing streak in 1999 and playing a bowl game that same year, you guys have something to build upon towards the future. Way to go and good luck towards the rest of the season!!

on a side note: The starting QB "Jack Rolovich" for Montana State was a former backup QB at Hawaii which in turn transferred.

So I gave in to temtation, and started some smack over at bobcatnation.com. Come join the fun!

They are definately pretty smug over there! ( MSU, not you PSU) I guess that they are just trying to make up for the fact that for one day, they sucked worse than we did. ( P.S. PSU, again, I followed you directions where it said," Click Here, you won't regret it!". I did, and I did. Nothing but Portland State stuff over there! )

"I was at the Chadron State/MSU game last year. Chadron will be a much tougher opponent than MSU this year."

That is taken from the Chadron State thread, I posted it in response to some of the smack directed to UNC from MSU posters on their board.

Also, in response to some of the comments about the legitimacy of Chadron States chances in the Division II playoffs, I can say from personal observation that they indeed have a legitimate chance to advance to the final game. There are some injury issues currently concerning them, but if resolved...look out.

Dissing them because of their conference and division affiliations is silly, especially if you saw them play at Nottingham back in September.

I believe if healthy, they could challenge for the Big Sky title this year. We have all been quite quick to slam the Bears this year, but the truth is, the conference is not all that swift this year either. Montana's scheduling will do nothing to prep them for playoff action. :!:
