Montana @ SUU

Given the fact the SUU has been a big dissappointment this season (they did better than I thought), they play Powerhouse Montana tonight. What happens:

SUU rolls or wins a close one

Montana rolls or wins a close one:

Sincerely, :coffee: :coffee:

IF MONTANA LOSES, IS THERE STILL A CHANCE THE TOUNEY WILL BE IN OGDEN? :coffee: :coffee:

Yes, If SUU wins and finishes higher than MSU and Weber wins out the tourney is in Ogden. Here's hoping that SUU can actually play (unlike MSU) and help us out.

But I think UM will win and host.

All I can say is YIKES!! Weber is depending on the Bird, Hornets, and Jacks to help get the conference tourny to Ogden? Hmmm...well, we can always hope right?

As for the bobs...they are done. I doubt they win again this season.

SUU hasn't been the same since Collie was arrested on drug possession charges. I was really surprised that MSU beat them last Thursday at Cedar City. And traveling from Cedar to get back to Bozeman may have tired MSU out, especially since Montana was rested and waiting for them.

But....now Montana has to get from Bozeman to Cedar, which can't be the best road trip, and it is senior night for the T-Birds. I would expect Stevenette to really come out playing hard in his last home game. In fact, I think SUU will be playing hard to get another win and try and get into the Sky tournament. There hacking, slightly dirty style, can really throw a team off. SUU gets any advantage on calls and UM won't survive. It expect it to be ugly and -- to use a too used phrase -- a dog fight. It could be wishful thinking, but this game has been marked on my mental calendar as a UM loss for a long time -- SUU 65 Montana 59.

SUU IS IN THE TOURNEY CAUSE THEY SWEPT NAU. JUST IF THEY WIN TONIGHT (AND I THINK THEY CAN AND WILL) IT WILL HELP THEIR SEEDING IN THE TOURNEY. THEY MIGHT EVEN GET A HOME GAME. IS THIS CORRECT? :coffee: :coffee:

UM can lose this game and will probably still host because MSU is almost certainly going to finish higher than SUU. SUU's loss at home to MSU on Thursday just about killed any chance Weber had of hosting.

Even if UM wins this one I still have high hopes for the tourney to be played in Ogden. I know Montana's last two games are at home, but Sac and NAU will still probably playing for a chance to make the tournament and could realistically pull upsets in Montana with their two best players out. That said, it would sure look better for Weber if SUU pulls this one off.

UM ain't losing 2 of 3, even without Cherry and Ward. They just beat MSU in Bozeman without them, and MSU is better than all three teams they have left to play.

MSU might have more talent than the others, but they aren't a better team than the others. MSU is a team of individuals, absolutely no chemistry.

Plus in-state rivalry games are almost always a crap shoot and UM beating MSU by small margins for both games isn't all that impressive. I really don't think UM will lose 2 of 3, but I wouldn't be that surprised if they did given the state of their team right now.

I believe that it is all over after this week. UM plays tonight, Thursday and Saturday.

If SUU were to win tonight, they would just have to win one more, UNC or UND, to insure our hosting. However, don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. SUU has shown no ability to win on the road lately. Also, UM is going to be fighting their guts out to host.

Isn't it interesting how UM this year, and WSU last year, can lose two or more key players and still be a strong team at the end. Other teams in our league have minor amounts of adversity and fall completely appart. Hmmmmm......! :coffee:

Weber and Montana are the Big Sky Conference, North Dakota is showing promise though.

I'm with Olds, even if the Birds can pull it off tonight, which I think they can...can they beat either UNCO or UND at their places? Probably not...

I wouldn't be too shocked to see MSU swept this week, but I wouldn't be surprised if they won both games this week too. That is how screwy things have gotten in the Sky. No way to tell what is going to happen. Hopefully NAU and SAC both play with a lot of passion and guts. If they do, there is a chance that they could pull off some upsets.

Best case scenario...UM loses tonight to the Birds and then the Hornets are able to beat them. I think NAU, if Jacobsen stays out of foul trouble could beat the Griz too. Likelihood of that actually happening? 10%...

Weber just needs to take care of business and keep getting better. Hopefully Saturday was a wake up call to the Cats.
